The data presented in connection with this investigation will serve as a guide for the engineer who plans to heat porous media on a larger scale. The experimental work gives an idea of the relative rates of heat flow through the porous material, depending on the nature of the fluid filling the pore spaces.
A method using simple calculus is presented for the calculation of vapor-liquid equilibria for complex mixtures. The computations are based on the true boiling point curve of the mixture and are performed with a plot of dM/riTe vs. Tb. The procedures and equations used are similar to those for component mixtures.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
