This paper presents a computer simulation o f a system to mcasure the interface pressure distribution between a patient ancl support surface. This is required for the analysis and study of pressure distributions of seated wheelchair or bed-ridden patients who are prone to pressure sore development. The proposed system uses Electrical Impedance Tomography techniques to obtain the conductivity distribution of a pressure sensitive resistive mat placed between the patient and support surface. Good results are obtained when utilising access to the centre of the mat lor data measurement.
