In this paper, we examine synchronization of large carrier frequency offsets in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environments. We show that a misadjustment of the receive filter in terms of its center frequency involves a significant SNR degradation that cannot be compensated for after receive filtering. In order to avoid degradations in the bit error rate of the system, we propose an iterative approach to circumvent this problem.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
