The infra-red and Raman spectra of ethylene imine and ethylene sulphide have been measured. The use of higher resolving power has revealed the rotational contour of many of the infra-red absorption bands, and this has been correlated with the molecular moments of inertia and symmetry. An attempt has been made to determine the magnitudes of the fundamental vibration frequencies of these molecules and to compare them with those suggested for ethylene oxide in a previous paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
