Kata-kata Kunci: variasi kuat arus, debit aliran gas pelindung, las GMAW, aluminium 5083, Posisi 1G Abstract: The Analysis of Tensile Strength of Aluminium 5083 that Welded by GMAW with 1G Position with Variation of Electric Current and Gas Flow Rate. The purpose of this study was to determine the tensile strength of 5083 aluminum GMAW welding results with a welding position 1G with strong variations in flow and the flow of protective gas. The method used was experimental research with variations in current of 90, 125, and 160 A and shielding gas flow rate of 14 L/min and 16 L/min. The tensile strength of samples was testedusing the test standard ASTM E 8M-04. Welding results showed that variations in protective gas flow affected tensile strength. The highest and lowest tensile strength was 21.04 kg/mm2 and 9.14 kg/mm2 respectively, obtained from welding currents of 125A and 90A with protective gas flow rates of 16 L/min and 14 L/min. The 5083 aluminum with a welding current of 90A and gas flow of 14L/min had a brittle fracture.
