Mahseer aquaculture activities are still relatively low because they are constrained by slow growth. Potassium diformate can promote growth by improving digestion. This research aimed to determine the optimum dose of potassium diformate addition to artificial feed for the best growth rate in mahseer fingerlings. The research was conducted from July – August 2022, in hatchery of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University, West Java, Indonesia. The method used in this research was experimental, using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and five replications. The test fish used were 200 mahseer fingerlings measuring 4.5 – 5.0 cm. The treatment used was the addition of potassium formate to artificial feed at a dose of 0% (A), 0.1% (B), 0.3% (C), and 0.5% (D). The length of maintenance is 40 days, with the amount of feeding 3% of the fish's body weight. Parameters observed included specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), survival rate (SR), and water quality (dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH). The research results showed that the addition of 0.3% potassium diformate gave the best results with the highest SGR value of 0.75%, FCR of 3.80, EP of 26.87%, SR of 100%. It can be concluded that the addition of potassium difomate has a good effect on the growth of mahseer fingerlings if given at optimal doses.
The low survival rate of gourami fingerling transportation is a problem. Setting the expected amount can lead to death. This research aims to determine the exact amount of density in the razor-sized gourami fingerling transported during the treatment period and to analyze its effect on the survival of razor-sized gourami fingerling. This research was carried out from April to June 2022. This research method used in the Factorial Randomized Group Design (FRGD) experiment consisted of two factors, namely the density factor of 4 levels (10, 20, 30, 40 fish/2L) and the three-stage transport duration factor levels ( 3, 5 and 7 hours). The transportation system in this study is a closed system. The parameters observed were post-transportation life, post-maintenance life for 7 days and water quality in the form of temperature, ammonia, pH and DO. Based on the results of research showed that the effective density for the transportation of razor-sized gourami fingerling was 30 fish/2L with a transportation duration of 5 hours and the survival rate post-transportation was 97.8% and post-maintenance 7 days was 90.02%.
Determining the concentration of garlic extract addition in commercial feeds that are effective for increasing the body's resistance and survival of nilem fish to the attack of Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria. This study was carried out at the Aquatic animal physiology laboratory of building 2 and the biotechnology laboratory, faculty of fisheries and marine sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, between November and December 2021. This study used the Complete Randomized Design (CRD) method with five treatments and three tests. The treatment used is the addition of garlic extract to commercial feed at doses: 0 g / kg of feed (A), 10 g / kg of feed (B), 20 g / kg of feed (C), 30 g / kg of feed (D), and 40 g / kg of feed (E). The treatment period is carried out for 21 days. Furthermore, nilem fish were tested with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria with a density of 108 CFU / ml by intramuscular injection. The results showed that the addition of garlic extract to the feed did not produce a noticeable influence on the survival value of fish. However, the administration of garlic extract into the feed of 20 g / kg affects the health of the fish body in the form of a white blood cell count of 12800 cells / mm3.
Indonesia is an archipelago with a diversity of sustainable fishery resources with economic value. This research was carried out in Karangsong village, Indramayu district, from September to October 2022 to analyze the welfare level of gill net fishermen in Karangsong village, Indramayu district. The method used is a descriptive case study with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by direct observation, and interviews were completed by filling out questionnaires of 30 respondents. Respondents were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The research parameters include ten welfare indicators summarized by the Central Statistics Agency (2015). The results of the research show that based on the welfare indicators according to the Central Statistics Agency (2015), it is known that the income of labor fishermen comes from wages from the fishery profit sharing system and other jobs with an average total income of IDR 5,086.667 per month. Meanwhile, total expenditures came from food and non-food spending, with an average of IDR 3,792,667 per month. Gill net fishermen in Karang song village are classified as having a high level of welfare, between a score of >2.31 and a total score of 2.76. Labor fishermen classified in high welfare were 27 respondents, while labor fishermen classified in moderate welfare were 3 respondents.
