Broadband is simply described as the transmission capacity that is faster than primary rate Integrated Services Digital Network at 1.5 or 2.0 megabits per second. Efforts have been made by the government of Malaysia to ensure that broadband should be seen as basic need and not a luxury. However, the internet users at the remote and rural areas in the world lack behind in using broadband which is always caused by lack of technology and economic factors, while the rural areas especially in the northern region of Malaysia are not excluded. This research investigated the readiness of rural dwellers in the northern region of Malaysia towards continuous usage of broadband by using a quantitative survey technique. The total numbers of 200 questionnaires were distributed to secondary school students that are residing in the rural areas of northern region of Malaysia. The results show that the rural dwellers are readily prepared for broadband continuous usage in their localization whenever they are sensitized towards it
Evidences have shown that it is only the electronic voting system that can deliver credible, fraud free elections in Nigeria. The delay in the implementation of this platform in Nigeria has nothing to do with the electorates with previous studies revealing the readiness of Nigerians to use and accept the electronic voting system. The major bottleneck has to do with the body entrusted with the responsibility of conducting election in the country i.e. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This motivates the researcher to examine what can be done at this level to achieve successful implementation of this technology. In this paper, a conceptual framework for the study is presented integrating Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) model, Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework and Iacovou et al. constructs. The presented framework serves as the basis of this study.
Abstract:The insufficient broadband enabled-services in the rural areas have been identified among the reasons that prolong the behaviour of rural dwellers on the use of low-band internet while government agencies have started initiations to increase the use of broadband in the rural area. However, previous studies have failed to identify the roles played by antecedents of broadband user behavioural intention in the rural communities. Thus, this research investigates roles of some antecedents of broadband user behavioural intention in the rural areas by adapting UTAUT model. A quantitative research approach was employed by engaging 1,730 participants from 40 villages who are secondary school students that are living in rural areas of northern region of Malaysia. The result reveals that performance expectancy, effort expectancy and compatibility have large effect on broadband user behavioural intention in the rural areas, while social influence recorded medium effect. This implies that all the identified factors may help in determining the behavioural intention of users of broadband in the rural areas.
As the mobile phone has become more mature, the continuous development of both hardware and software has become increasingly popular. Nowadays the need to develop mobile application that can run over multi-platform is an essential problem because we have to conquer the difficulties of the variety of mobile platform such as building a different application for each platform is very expensive if written in each native language. Because of the availability of web browser in all mobile devices, it is suggested as an environment to run all web application. This research will examine the limitation and resources of mobile web applications for each individual platform then presenting a model that can be run in different platform for developing phase HTML and CSS3 combined with java script languages will be used, the application will be located on remote server that can be accessed using mobile device throughout the internet, to evaluate the application two test will be done to check the functionality and the availability. The mobile technology has developed very fast during the current Volume 8 • Issue 2 • 1000225 J Inform Tech Softw Eng, an open access journal • Threading -Web workers.
