To explore offshore conditions’ influence on the heat transfer capacity of heat exchangers, a numerical model of a heat exchanger tube under three-dimensional periodic oscillation was realized by adding UDF to commercial software. Meanwhile, the influence of Reynolds number and frequency on the heat exchange tube’s heat transfer capacity was inquired. Through discussion, it is found that the three-dimensional oscillation can enhance heat transfer performance at relatively low frequencies under any Reynolds number. The overall heat transfer enhancement decreases as the Reynolds number increases.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
