With the development of intelligent transportation systems, more and more attention was paid to the study of VANETs. A reasonable node mobility model is very important to evaluating the authenticity of various VANETs protocols. In this paper, a mobility model based on real map was proposed for VANETs to overcome the disadvantages of existing models. The new model can show vehicles' movement scenario more veritably in routing selection, movement direction of nodes restricted by road network, etc. Simulation results show that this model reflects VANETs performance properly, and it is valuable on studying and evaluating protocols for VANETs
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
