Previous studies were of a lower resolution and depicted long wavelength heat flow anomalies (IHFC 2008; Cardoso et al. 2010). Heat flow studies were reported for the Colombian-Caribbean oceanic zone with no detailed work on Colombian territory (Salazar et al. 2017; Li et al. 2013). However, a higher resolution heat flow map of the area comprising the Colombian-Caribbean oceanic domain, and northern continental Colombia (Fig. 1) would be a contribution to the study of the interaction of the Caribbean, and South American tectonic plates. In particular, knowledge of the depth to the Curie isotherm (assumed to coincide with the depth to the bottom of magnetic sources, DBMS) will help to characterize the
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
