Fifty residential electric water heaters and 150 new residential clothes dryers were modified to respond to signals received from underfrequency, load-shedding appliance controllers. Each controller monitored the power-grid voltage signal and requested that electrical load be shed by its appliance whenever electric power-grid frequency fell below 59.95 Hz. The controllers and their appliances were installed and monitored for more than a year at residential sites at three locations in Washington and Oregon. The controllers and their appliances responded reliably to each shallow underfrequency eventan average of one event per day-and shed their loads for the durations of these events. Appliance owners reported that the appliance responses were unnoticed and caused little or no inconvenience for the homes' occupants.
Abstract. The results of investigations of SI engine fuelled with hydrogen and mixed n-butanol with isobutanol have been presented in article. The idea of flexible feeding system and the aim and methodology of carried out measurement have been also described. Obtained results have been compared to the results of tests carried out during flexible feeding of the same engine. The proposed control system enables not only application of different liquid and gaseous fuels but also application of the fuels which chemical composition vary within the relatively short time intervals.
The paper presents the results of simulation tests of the process of fuel vaporization inside a gas conduit of a distributorless pneumatic injection system of a two stroke spark ignition engine induced by hot exhaust gas. For the simulation a CFD Phoenics has been used. The fuel delivery has been modeled for the phase when the medium flow is seized.
A temporal and spatial analysis of the fuel film and the gaseous phase of the fuel has been presented. The results of the said simulations could constitute a basis for validation of a real engine of the investigated type.
The article presents the results of industrial research, of mixer and injection gas supply systems of internal combustion engines, for fuel gas time-varying chemical composition. The publication presents an innovative injection system working by patent PL 222462, and obtained operating characteristics of power generators with the implemented system. In addition for comparison, the article presents the results of research a generator set with implemented an innovative system of the mixing gas fuel supply, with variable chemical composition.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
