A silver(I) coordination polymer with mixed 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-benzenedicarboxylate (BDC-Cl 4 ) and 2,2Ј-bipyridine (2,2Јbpy) ligands, [Ag 2 (BDC-Cl 4 )(2,2Ј-bpy)] n (1), was synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 features a robust three-dimen-
Two new polymeric Mn II complexes, {[Mn(1,2-BDC-F 4 )(H 2 O) 3 ](EtOH)} n (1) and [Mn(1,2-BDC-F 4 )(H 2 O) 2 (DMF)] n (2), have been prepared from the reaction of Mn II acetate with 3,4,5,6-tetrafluoro-benzene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid (1,2-H 2 BDC-F 4 ) using different solvents, and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, and single-crystal Xray structure analysis. Both complexes crystallize in the triclinic space group P1 and have similar one-dimensional double chain structures, consisting of a unique arrangement of 8-membered and 14-membered rings. The effects of solvent as ligand and/or guest on the self-assembly processes of the supramolecular networks and on their photoluminescence properties in the solid state are discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
