Since the effect of multipath interference under indoor environment, some tags cannot be activated without sufficient power in detection area for the passive UHF RFID system, which decreases the tag recognition rate greatly. It is proposed in this paper that the smart antenna is used to overcome multipath interference. The influence of using the smart antenna on the tag received power is analyzed based on multipath channel modeling. Simulation results show that the tag received power tends to be more stable when using the smart antenna than using the traditional single antenna under multipath environment for the passive UHF RFID system, which improves tag recognition rate.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
