It is shown thatjthe high frequency extraordinary waves, propagating perpendicuiar to the dc magnetic Geld in ferromagnetic systems, are governed by the nonlinear Schrodinger equation and are modulationally unstable and may-evolve as solitons.
In this paper, four-wave mixing in plasmas for the case of a transmission geometry is investigated. The exact solutions of appropriate nonlinear equations for a phase shift between the refractive index grating and interference pattern of the optical beams have been found. The existence of multistability and self-oscillations in the process has been shown. It should be pointed out that our solutions contain both intensities and phases of the beams.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
