The effects of radiation and first order homogeneous chemical reaction on hydromagnetic boundary layer flow of a viscous, steady, and incompressible fluid over an exponential stretching sheet have been investigated. The governing system of partial differential equations has been transformed into ordinary differential equations using similarity variables. The dimensionless system of differential equations was then solved numerically by the Runge-Kutta method. The skin-friction coefficient and the rate of heat and mass transfers are presented in tables whilst velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are illustrated graphically for various varying parameter values. It was found that the rate of heat transfer at the surface decreases with increasing values of the transverse magnetic field parameter and the radiation parameter.
In this current paper, an investigation has been conducted on the magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow of non-Newtonian Casson fluids on magnetized sheet with an exponentially stretching sheet. The similarity approach has been used to transform the governing models for Casson fluid
to ordinary differential equations. We presented numerical results for momentum, energy and concentration equation parameters. Effects of the magnetized sheet and varying all the emerged parameters on the flow of Casson fluid with respect to the friction between the fluid and the surface,
temperature and concentration are presented in tables. As a result of the induced magnetization of the sheet, the thickness of the thermal boundary layer has been enhanced. This behaviour brings a considerable reduction to the heat transfer. The induced magnetized sheet has a similar influence
on the skin friction, Nusselt number and the Sherwood number. We however proposed incorporation of magnetized surfaces in MHD flows for controlling the flow rate of the fluid and heat transfer characteristics.
This paper is an investigation of the effects of chemical reaction on two dimensional steady stagnation point flow of an electrically conducting, incompressible, and viscous fluid with radiation towards a heated shrinking porous surface. A chemically reactive species is emitted from the vertical surface into the flow field. The governing partial differential equations are solved using the Newton-Raphson shooting method along with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta integration. Velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are presented graphically. Numerical results for the skin friction coefficient, the rate of heat transfer represented by the local Nusselt number and the rate of mass transfer represented by the local Sherwood number are presented in tables and discussed quantitatively. The effects of magnetic field parameter, the velocity ratio parameter, the radiation parameter, the suction parameter, Schmidt number, Eckert number, Prandtl number and reaction rate parameter on the flow field are discussed.
A deterministic model is proposed to describe the transmission dynamics of coronavirus infection with early interventions. Epidemiological studies have employed modeling to unravel knowledge that transformed the lives of families, communities, nations and the entire globe. The study established the stability of both disease free and endemic equilibria. Stability occurs when the reproduction number, R0, is less than unity for both disease free and endemic equilibrium points. The global stability of the disease-free equilibrium point of the model is established whenever the basic reproduction number R0 is less than or equal to unity. The reproduction number is also shown to be directly related to the transmission probability (β), rate at which latently infected individuals join the infected class (δ) and rate of recruitment (Λ). It is inversely related to natural death rate (μ), rate of early treatment (τ1), rate of hospitalization of infected individuals (θ) and Covid-induced death rate (σ). The analytical results established are confirmed by numerical simulation of the model.
