Partially hverked h e powders of zinc ferrite (ZnFe;?O$ were produced by chemical aerogel synthesis. These powders showed magnetic ordering at temperatures to 250K. Upon ball milling, a much higher inversion parameter was attain4 yielhg ferrimagnetic powders having small remanence and coercive fields at room temperature. Due to the small mean particle size, superparamagnetic behavior was seen at temperatures above 25K. Powder properties were characterized by x-ray a a c t i o n , electron microscopy, calorimetry, magnetometry, and MOssbauer effect spectroscopy techniques.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
