C 24 H 24 Ag 2 N 6 O 10 , triclinic, P1 (no. 2), a = 3.807(3) Å, b = 11.55(1) Å, c = 16.21(1) Å, a = 74.17(1)°, b = 84.75(1)°, g = 89.89(1)°, V = 682.6 Å 3 , Z = 1, R gt (F) = 0.045, wR ref (F 2 ) = 0.153, T = 293 K. Source of materialAll reagents and solvents were used as purchased without further purification. C, H and N elemental analyses were performed on a Perkin-Elmer elemental analyzer. Ag 2O (1 mmol, 232 mg) and 3-nitrobenzoic acid (1 mmol, 151 mg) were dissolved in ammonia solution (10 ml), stirred for ca. 10 min to obtain a clear solution. 4-aminopyrimidine (1 mmol, 81 mg) was added to the above solution with stirring. After the solution was kept in air for four days with the ammonia gas escaping, large colorless crystals were formed, collected, washed with water, and dried in a vacuum desiccator using CaCl 2 (yield 55 %). Elemental analysis: found -C, 37.55 %; H, 3.06 %; N, 10.70 %. Calc. for C 12 H 12 AgN 3 O 5 -C, 37.33 %; H, 3.13 %; N, 10.88 %.
Source of materialAll reagents and solvents were used as purchased without further purification. C, H and N elemental analyses were performed on a Perkin-Elmer elemental analyzer. In a similar procedure as described in our previous paper [1] the title compound was prepared. An ethanol solution (5 ml) of diethylenetriamine (60 mg, 1 mmol) was added to 2-fluorobenzaldehyde (248 mg, 2 mmol) in ethanol (10 ml) with stirring at ambient temperature. After half an hour, a suspension of Ag 2 O (166 mg, 0.5 mmol) and 4-chlorobenzoic acid (157 mg, 1 mmol) in acetonitrile (10 ml) was added to the above solution. The resultant solution was kept to evaporate slowly in air. Colorless single crystals of the title compound were deposited and collected by filtration. The crystals were washed with a mixture of ethanol and acetonitrile (1:1 v/v) and then dried in a vacuum desiccator over silica gel (yield 55 %). Elemental analysis: found -C 57.15 %, H 3.99 %, N 5.70 %; calc. for C 46 H 37 AgCl 2 F 4 N 4 O 4 -C 57.28 %, H 3.87 %, N 5.81 %. DiscussionTransition metal complexes with Schiff bases were widely studied in recent decades, however, silver
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
