PhotonAge is developing gigabit speed optical links that can support high‐resolution digital displays with a micro‐optical solution that has a small form factor and low cost. The building blocks of PhotonLink™ are fully integrated transmitter/receiver ICs, micro‐optic headers and a fiber jumper. We have demonstrated 400 meter video transmission to an XGA resolution LCD display using our micro‐optical solution. Our optical link can transmit 2.5 Gbps per channel with PCB mountable simple packaging for a variety of applications.
