This study was carried out to evaluate health professionals' perceptions of COVID-19 and their compliance with isolation precautions within the scope of the Health Belief Model. The population of this cross-sectional study consisted of 1500 health professionals comprising physicians and nurses who work in a university hospital in Turkey between 10 May and 30 May 2020, while its sample consisted of 309 health professionals accepting to participate in the study. In the data collection, descriptive characteristics form which was prepared by the researchers, the COVID-19 Perception Questionnaire prepared within the scope of the Health Belief Model, and the Isolation Precautions Compliance Scale were used. The mean scores of perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived health-motivation, perceived self-efficacy, cues to action, and the total mean score of the COVID-19 Perception Questionnaire were found to be above the average. Whereas, the perceived barriers mean score was found to be below the average. Perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, and cues to action mean scores of the nurses were significantly higher than those of the physicians. The compliance of health professionals with isolation was also above the average, and nurses' mean score of compliance with the isolation precautions is significantly higher than those of physicians. The increased perception of the COVID-19 epidemic based on the Health Belief Model positively affects the compliance of health professionals to isolation. The development of certain strategies be recommended that increase health professionals’ perception of the COVID-19 outbreak and their compliance with the isolation precautions.
Giriş: COVID-19 bulaşıcılığı ve ciddiyeti ile tüm dünyada endişe yaratmıştır. Sadece fizyolojik hastalık oluşturarak enfekte olanları etkilemeyip toplumun genelinin ruhsal sağlığını da tehdit etmiştir. Pandemiye ilişkin kaygı ve algı toplumun başa çıkma stratejilerini etkilemektedir. Amaç: Araştırma COVID-19 salgınında, Mersin’de yaşayan halkın Sağlık İnanç Modeli kapsamında salgına ilişkin algısının başa çıkma tutumlarına ve kaygıya olan etkisini değerlendirmek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Kesitsel türdeki araştırmanın örneklemini Mersin’de bir üniversite hastanesine başvuran 433 kişi oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında “Tanımlayıcı Özellikler Formu”, “COVID-19 Algı Anketi”, “Durumluluk Kaygı Envanteri” ve “Başa Çıkma Tutumlarını Değerlendirme Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. The aim of this research is to determine the attitudes of women and men towards violence against women. This cross-sectional study was carried out on May-September 2021 with the participation of 454 people aged between 19-60 who could read and write, use a smart phone, had no visual impairment and agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Information Form prepared by the researchers and the Attitude Scale towards Violence Against Women prepared by Gömbül (1998). The data obtained in the research were analyzed in the SPSS 25.0 statistical package program. It was determined that 37.4% of the participants were between the ages of 18-25, 78% were women, 51.8% were undergraduates, 53.1% were single, and 58.6% were working. In the study, the total score average of the scale was found to be significantly higher for those who consider arranged marriage more appropriate, those who think that one can commit violence unintentionally out of anger, and those who see violence as partly a means of discipline and acceptance (p<0.05). The participants' attitudes towards violence against women were below the average. However, it is observed that there is a traditionalist point of view in the results of the study.
The purpose of this research is to evaluate the evidence-based knowledge, skills and behavior competencies of nursing students. The sample of this cross-sectional study consisted of 435 nursing students. In collecting the data, socio-demographic characteristics form and “The Evidence-Based Practice Questionnaire in Nursing Students” were used. The evidence-based practice questionnaire in nursing students, knowledge subsets mean score is 18.6 ± 2.9, skill subsets mean score is 19.1 ± 2.9, behavior subsets mean score is 46.9 ± 6.7, total point average is 84.7 ± 9.1. When comparing the descriptive features with the evidence-based application scale, the information subsets means: in 21-22 years old, mother is a university graduate, family income is more than expenses, graduates from vocational high schools and 4th grade students; skill subsets: in the students studying in the 2nd grade; behavioral subsets: women, singles, 2nd class and those who find their profession suitable for their interests; the total score averages were found to be significantly higher in women, singles, 2nd class and those who find their profession suitable for their interests (p
