The development of visual communication design has grown and developed and become familiar with human life. Design Thinking is a tool used in problem-solving, problem-design, to problem-forming. Not only resolves a problem, but also for forming and designing a problem. In the process design thinking is human centered or human centered. Every design thinking process originates and is aimed at humans. The application of many design functions is applied in various ways, such as for the education sector, tourism, business and others. The application of design functions in the education sector is like solving problems related to design in order to prepare new students in passing the transition process to become an adult and independent student, as well as to accelerate the process of student adaptation to the new environment and provide provision for success in higher education. Introduction of Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB), visual communication media are needed. The purpose of this study was to design visual communication media about the implementation of PKKMB at STMIK PalComTech and PalComTech Polytechnic in 2018. This study used the Design thinking method. Design Thinking is a user / user focused problem solving method. The stages in design thinking are Emphatize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The results obtained from this study are in the form of designs that have been conceptualized well for the implementation of PKKMB at STMIK PalComTech and PalComTech Polytechnic in 2018 in the form of name tag design, back drop design, and banner.
Applications that use mobile devices are growing rapidly in accordance with the needs and fashion of a society that continues to grow. Many conveniences and benefits are felt if an agency or institution has a mobile-based application, among others is the ease of obtaining information and the latest data from the agency or institution. Museum Balaputra Dewa Palembang is one of the museums that must develop themselves to follow the development of mobile technology that is growing rapidly, which must be able to present information that is more easily accessible by the community not only in Palembang but throughout Indonesia. The User Interface for the promotion of lakeur arts and crafts at the Balaputra Dewa Museum was created using the Task Centered System Design (TCSD) method, which has several stages, namely creating planning flow, storyboard analysis, conceptual analysis of models, paper prototyping analysis and mock-up design. This stage is the basis of a user interface design in an application.
Indonesia kaya akan khasanah keanekaragaman warisan budaya dapat dilihat sampai saat ini berupa bangunan bersejarah yang hampir terdapat diberbagai Kota di Indonesia. Kota Palembangmerupakan salah satu kota bersejarah di Indonesia, mempunyai potensi sumber daya alam, sosial maupun budayanyadapat dijadikan objek pariwisata. Salah satunya yaitu bagunan bersejarah Masjid Agung Palembang merupakan sebuah bangunan peninggalan warisan budaya lokal yang memiliki nilai sejarah budaya yang tinggi dan pusat kegiatan keagamaan umat Islam masyarakat Kota Palembang. Namun, cikal bakal cultural heritage mengalami pergeseran, dengan lajunya modernisasi dan globalisasi, dan telah mengancam kelestarian budaya di beberapa kawasan bersejarah. Melihat hal tersebut tentu sangat disayangkan, mengingat pemanfaatan bangunan bersejarah sebagai produk pariwisata merupakan sebuah kebutuhan yang sangat penting di era kehidupan modern, pariwisata juga menjadi sebuah magnet yang kuat untuk lebih memperkenalkan sebuah wilayah dimata dunia.Sehingga penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu untuk bagaimana membuat motion graphic Masjid Agung Palembang sebagai media promosi pariwisata bangunan bersejarah dan pusat kegiatan keagamaan masyarakat Kota Palembang. Metode penelitian akan dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka sedangkan metode pengembangan media promosi pariwisata yang dibangun dengan berbasis multimedia menggunatan metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC).

Business Management Improvement and Product Quality Improvement for Pottery Craftsmen in Banyuasin Regency. The purpose of Community Service (PKM) activities is to empower target partners to become independent communities. After the training and mentoring activities are carried out, it is expected to increase the knowledge and skills of partners in producing neater pottery products. The success indicator is increasing the quality of partner products so that they have competitiveness. Improvements in partner business management, indicators of the success of PKM activities in the form of changes in partner business patterns with better business management by 85%. By showing the products produced according to the standards that have been set based on the wishes of consumers, an effective and efficient production system, as well as increasing the quality of human resources in partners. Improvements in the field of marketing are shown through the continuous use of e-commerce and digital marketing in product promotion and marketing of at least 85%.Abstrak: Mitra pada Kegiatan ini yaitu Dedy Gerabah yang di kelurahan Sukomoro Kecamatan Talang Kelapa Kab. Banyuasin. Perbaikan Manajemen Usaha dan Peningkatan Kualtas Porduk Pada Pengrajin Gerabah di Kabupaten Banyuasin. Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) untuk memperdayakan Mitra sasaran agar menjadi masyarakat mandiri. Setelah dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan diharapkan dapat menigkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam menghasilkan produk gerabah lebih rapi. Indikator keberhasilnya yaitu menigkatnya kualitas produk mitra sehingga memiliki daya saing. Perbaikan manajemen usaha mitra, indikator keberhasilan kegiatan PKM berupa perubahan pola usaha mitra dengan manajemen usaha yang lebih baik sebesar 85%. Dengan ditunjukan produk yang dihasilkan sesuai standar yang telah ditetapkan berdasarkan keinginan konsumen, sistem produksi yang efektif dan efisien, serta meningkatnya kualias SDM pada mitra. Perbaikan di bidang pemasaran di tunjukan melalui penggunaan e-commerce dan digital marketing secara kontinu dalam promosi dan pemasaran produk minimal sebesar 85%.
Keberagaman kearifan budaya lokal memiliki peran untuk dipelajari serta mencari jalan keluar sebagai upaya mengatasi masalah-masalah yang diperoleh pada masa lalu. Masyarakat Kerinci telah lama mengenal tulisan incung bahkan sebelum masuknya Isam ke daerah ini. Aksara incung yang mulai berkembang setelah ada prasasti Karang Berahi tahun 608/686 M, saat itu Kerinci dalam pemerintahan Sigindo. Penciptaan desain user interface aksara incung bertujuan membantu memperkenalkan tentang aksara incung. Metode pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan tahapan observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses kreatif yaitu melibatkan 4 tahap, yakni preparation (persiapan atau masukan), incubation (tahap pengeraman), illumination (tahap ilham/inspirasi), verification (pembuktian/pengujian). Hasil yang diperoleh telah memenuhi kriteria yang baik sebagai desain untuk tampilan user interface aksara incung sehingga dapat membantu dalam pengenalan kearifan lokal budaya pada masa lalu yaitu aksara incung.
