The evaluation of economic, property and financial aspects of the economy can be made through analysis of the Financial-Economic indicators that, when properly forecasted, can bring great benefits to the company and its shareholders. Over the last few years, several authors have studied the relationship between these indicators and macroeconomic variables. The objective of this paper is to determine the influence of GDP (Gross Domestic Product), Exchange Rate, SELIC Rate (Brazil's interest base rate) and in flation rate on the performance of four publicly held company of Brazilian pulp and paper sector: Fibria, Suzano Papel e Celulose, Celulose Irani and Klabin. For this analysis, two models were applied to the database, one using only the past data of the indicators themselves and another using past both data and macroeconomic variables. According to the evaluation criteria used, for the studied period, the performance of the macroeconomic variables was significant to predict the changes in the economic-financial indexes.
