1661An extension of the Veneziano model to Ps-V elastic (inelastic) scattering amplitude is presented, using the generalized Veneziano amplitude. The amplitude has the following natural properties: consistency with the original Veneziano model for nn->nw scattering amplitude and reasonable treatment for spin complications. Then one obtains relations for the coupling constants for three-vector mesons. These predicted relations are shown to be consistent with the SU(3) symmetry.
One-particle spectra and inclusive density matrix elements are expressed in terms of the discontinuities of the helicity-dependen t forward scattering amplitudes of three particles. Using the Vector-Meson-Do minance Model, one-particle spectra of the reactions rN~n-+any thing and eN~en-+anything are related to the inclusive density matrix element of the reaction rcN~ V +ttnything. The amplitudes of these reactions are given by using 18 real discontinuities of the invariant amplitudes. Assuming smoothness of the dependence of the invariant amplitudes on vector-meson-mas s squared, and restricting the dependence of the invariant amplitudes up to first order in the vector-meson-mas s squared, we can obtain a new type of the vector-meson-dom inance relations between inclusive density matrix elements for the reaction rcN~ V +anything and one-particle spectra for the reaction "r"N~rc+anything . § 1. IntroductionWith increasing reaction energy, inelastic processes become more and more important, and soon we have experiments on inclusive reactions, especially: singleparticle spectra off im unpolarized target. Also we have some experimental results of single-particle spectra produced by electron and polarized photon,_ and the inclusive density matrix elements of the p 0 meson produced by -a-+ p.In the quasi-elastic reactions we know that the vector-meson dominance model (VDM) ****> is satisfied fairly well (within factor two), and special~y well for the natural parity exchange processes. In VDM we make the smo~thness assumption of the amplitudes and relate real-photon, virtual-photon and vector-meson processes to each other. , On the other hand, in the deep inelastic process Bjorken scaling 2 > is also *> Part of this work has been done during one of the authors' (C.I.) stay at DESY during the summer of 1973.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
