Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang skrining fitokimia dari serbuk ekstrak buah buncis (Phaseolus vulgaris L). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa kimia yang terdapat pada serbuk ekstrak buah buncis yang telah mengalami proses pemanasan pada suhu tinggi dan telah disimpan dalam waktu yang sudah ditentukan. Golongan senyawa kimia yang akan diuji meliputi flavonoid, alkaloid, fenol, saponin, tanin, steroid dan triterpenoid. Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan serbuk ekstrak buah buncis mengandung senyawa kimia golongan flavonoid, alkaloid, fenol, saponin, steroid dan triterpenoid
The importance of critical thinking skills for students in the study of chemistry, it is necessary to appropriate learning models that can involve students directly in making students active learning and improve students' critical thinking skills. One model that can be applied is discovery learning model learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in critical thinking skills of students learning through discovery learning. This study was an experimental study design with nonequivalent pretest-Posttes Control Group Design. The subjects of the study involves two classes of experimental class and control class. Data collection instruments in the form of test critical thinking skills in the form of matter description. Statistical testing using independent sample t-test were previously tested for normality, homogeneity test at the 0.05 significance level. The results showed no difference in the increase in critical thinking skills in each of the indicators of critical thinking skills.Keywords: Discovery learning, critical thinking skills
Telah dilakukan penelitian pengembangan LKPD berbasis pembelajaran penemuan pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) kelayakan pengembangan LKPD secara teoritis; 2) kepraktisan penggunaan LKPD berbasis pembelajaran penemuan; dan 3) keefektifan penerapan LKPD berbasis pembelajaran penemuan. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu model Dick & Carey (analisis kebutuhan dan identifikasi tujuan umum, analisis pembelajaran, analisis pembelajar dan konteks, merumuskan tujuan khusus, mengembangkan instrumen penilaian, mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran, mengembangkan dan memilih bahan pembelajaran, evaluasi formatif, melakukan revisi, serta evaluasi sumatif). Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah 1) LKPD berbasis pembelajaran penemuan pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit sangat layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran dikarenakan telah memenuhi syarat kelayakan secara teoritis dengan persentase rata-rata LKPD sebesar 89,33% dan termasuk dalam kriteria sangat layak, 2) LKPD berbasis pembelajaran penemuan sangat praktis dan mudah digunakan oleh guru dan peserta didik dengan rata-rata respon sebesar 86,79% dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik atau praktis; dan 3) LKPD berbasis pembelajaran penemuan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik dengan skor N-gain sebesar 0,36 dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis pembelajaran penemuan layak, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit.
The goal of this study is to improve high school chemistry teacher's competency in terms of classroom instruction. This goal is achieved through the workshop and continuous assistance activities that enable teachers to improve their knowledge and skills in developing learning scenarios that reflect scientific methods (brain-based learning) in the classroom instruction. The effect of teachers' competence improvement was measured by a survey of student's perception on the classroom teaching-learning process, using Likert-scale questionnaire. The first poll was conducted before the program was started, and the second one was after the program completion. The first observation shows that only 18% of students perceive that the chemistry learning process in the classroom are "good," while the rest (82%) say that it is "fair". However, the second poll shows that there are 45% of students who perceive that the learning process is "good"; interestingly, there are 35%, and 20% of respondents say "excellent" and "fair," respectively. Furthermore, data analyses using chi-square test conclude that the continuous teacher assistance activity significantly improves teachers' competencies. This article describes detailed of collaboration program and the results of improvement of chemistry teachers' competence in north Lombok regency.
