Purpose: This study investigated the effects of emotional intelligence on the customer orientation and organizational performance of hair salon workers and the effects of customer orientation on their organizational performance. Through our research, we recognized the importance of emotional intelligence for hair salon workers, and we have suggested methods of management that are likely to be more effective. Methods: Data from 239 questionnaires administered to hair salon workers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas were analyzed using frequency and reliability analyses by employing SPSS 22.0. Further, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis were performed on the data using AMOS 21.0. Results: Emotional intelligence had a significant effect on customer orientation and organizational performance, and customer orientation had a significant effect on organizational performance. Conclusion: The implications of this study include the necessity to manage emotional intelligence efficiently and to create an atmosphere where workers can recognize and express themselves as they are. Further, workers need systemic and educational support to maximize their ability to utilize their full emotional range.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of coaching leadership of hair salon managers on the problem-solving ability and job performance of the salons' members so as to propose a method to improve job performance. Methods: The data of the 378 questionnaires administered to hair salon workers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas were analyzed by frequency analysis and reliability analysis by employing SPSS 22.0. Furthermore, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis were performed using AMOS 21.0. Results: The results revealed that coaching leadership has a significant effect on problem-solving ability and job performance. Furthermore, problem-solving ability has a significant effect on job performance. Consequently, it can be deduced that coaching leadership is an important factor involved in enhancing job performance. Conclusion: First, the task evaluation system should be eliminated and efforts should be made to develop competencies. Second, specific directions and aims should be provided. Third, a positive relationship between managers and members should be cultivated.
Purpose: This study emphasizes brand image and perceived value by examining and identifying the mediating effect of the relationship between hair salons’ brand images, perceived value, and customer loyalty. It aims to enhance the competitiveness of hair salon brands by providing the basic data necessary for the development and improvement of sales in professional hair salons.Methods: This study performed frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis, and mediation regression analysis, using SPSS 22.0 for 534 copies of data collected through questionnaires for adult men and women using hair salons.Results: The study results show that brand image significantly affected the perceived value and customer loyalty. Additionally, the perceived value significantly affected customer loyalty and partially mediated the relationship between brand image and customer loyalty.Conclusion: It is necessary to market factors with positive brand image effects for a hair salon, and customers should feel satisfied and unburdened. Additionally, to increase the salon’s value, suitable unit prices for technology and services should be set instead of higher unit prices.
Purpose: This study examined the effect of emotional intelligence on the selfelasticity of beauty-related international students, and it analyzes the effect of emotional intelligence on subjective well-being, highlighting the importance of educational institutions, due to the recent globalization of beauty education resulting from K-beauty. The goal was to propose a way to increase self-elasticity and subjective well-being through emotional intelligence. Methods: SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze the frequency, reliability, factor analysis, and regression analysis of 253 copies of data collected through a questionnaire given to beauty-related international students. Results: It was found that the emotional intelligence of international students related to beauty had a significant effect on self-elasticity and subjective well-being, and the hypothesis was partially adopted. It was also found that the emotional intelligence's empathy and thought-promoting abilities had a great influence. Conclusion: First, parents and teachers who teach international students should be provided with materials to recognize and guide the importance of the students' emotional characteristics. Second, schools should provide various programs to improve emotional intelligence. Third, counseling programs for international students should be developed and implemented. As a result, it is necessary to positively raise the social perception of studying abroad and to make students proud.
Purpose: This study investigated how positive strokes toward trainees in the hair beauty work-study system affected their self-esteem, customer orientation, and organizational effectiveness. This study provides the basic data necessary for the development of a professional education and training program, including positive strokes to improve self-esteem and to increase the competitiveness of trainees on the work-study parallel system with a hair major. Methods: Data were collected from the 300 completed questionnaires, made for trainees in their 20s, on a hair beauty work-study parallel system, and subjected to frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis using SPSS 22.0. Results: The work-learning parallel system indicated that the positive strokes toward trainees had a significant effect on their self-esteem, organizational effectiveness, and customer orientation. Moreover, self-esteem had a significant effect on organizational effectiveness and customer orientation. Conclusion: First, the introduction of educational or counseling programs that can increase positive strokes is required. Second, receptive and open business operations to form mutually trusting relationships are needed rather than unilaterally directed work. In addition, schools should establish and implement various education and training support policies that can revitalize organizational learning culture rather than infusion education. Third, we need time and money so that we can engage in cultural activities that develop and support positive thinking.
