Western Jilin province has the most serious area of soda salinization in Northeast China, which affects and restricts the sustainable development of agriculture. The effects of physico-chemical properties of rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soil on soil microbial diversity and enzyme activities (polyphenol oxidase, catalase, invertase, amylase) were evaluated in typical soda saline-alkali paddy field. Community-level physiological profile (CLPP) based on Biolog-ECO plates was used to assess the functional diversity of soil microorganisms. Exchangeable sodium percentage (ESP) and pH were negative correlated with the microbial activity (AWCD), soil enzyme activities (amylase, sucrose, and catalase, except for polyphenol oxidase) in rice rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soil (P < 0.05). The indexes of microbial diversity in rice rhizosphere soil were significantly higher than that of non-rhizosphere soil. The utilization of amino acids by rice rhizosphere microorganisms was relatively high, while non-rhizosphere soil had relatively high utilization of carboxylic acid, phenolic acid, and amine. Among the selected physico-chemical properties, soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil water content (SWC) had the greatest influence on the variation of microbial diversity indexes and enzyme activities in rhizosphere soil. ESP and pH showed a significant positive correlation with carbon source utilization, especially for amine (AM) and phenolic acid (PA) carbon source utilization (P < 0.05) by means of RDA, and the utilization rate of AM and PA carbon sources by rice rhizosphere and non-root soil microorganisms was P1 < P2 < P3.
The southwest of Songnen Plain, Northeast China, has an arid climate and is a typical concentrated distribution area of saline-alkali soil. The terrain here is low-lying, with many small, shallow lakes that are vulnerable to climate change. This paper used Landsat satellite remote sensing images of this area from 1985 to 2015 to perform interpretation of lake water bodies, to classify the lakes according to their areas, and to analyze the spatial dynamic characteristics of lakes in different areas. During the 30 years from 1985 to 2015, the number of lakes in the study area decreased by 71, and the total lake area decreased by 266.85 km2. The decrease was more serious in the east and northeast, and the appearance and disappearance of lakes was drastic. The Mann–Kendall test method was used to analyze trends in meteorological factors (annual mean temperature, annual precipitation, and annual evaporation) in the study area and perform mutation tests. Through correlation analysis and multiple generalized linear model analysis, the response relationship between lake change and climate change was quantified. The results showed that the average temperature in the area is rising, and the annual precipitation and evaporation are declining. Temperature and precipitation mainly affected lakes of less than 1 km2, with a contribution rate of 31.2% and 39.4%, and evaporation had a certain correlation to the total lake area in the study area, with a contribution rate of 60.2%. Small lakes are susceptible to climatic factors, while large lakes, which are mostly used as water sources, may be influenced more by human factors. This is the problem and challenge to be uncovered in this article. This research will help to improve our understanding of lake evolution and climate change response in saline-alkali areas and provide scientific basis for research into lakes’ (reservoirs’) sustainable development and protection.
Simulating the hydrological process of a river basin helps to understand the evolution of water resources in the region and provides scientific guidance for water resources allocation policies between different river basins and water resources management within the river basin. This paper provides a scientific basis for the sustainable development of regional water resources and an accurate grasp of the future change trend of runoff by analyzing the hydrological process response of runoff in typical watersheds in Changbai Mountains, China, to climate change. The applicability of the HEC-HMS (The Hydrologic Engineering Center’s-Hydrologic Modeling System) hydrological model in the watershed is verified by calibrating and verifying the daily rainfall-runoff process in the watershed during the wet season from 2006 to 2017. The daily rainfall data of the two scenarios SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 under the BCC-CSM2-MR model in the 2021–2050 CMIP6 plan were downscaled and interpolated to in-basin stations to generate future daily precipitation series to predict runoff response to future climate change. The daily rainfall data of the two scenarios were downscaled and interpolated to the stations in the basin to generate future daily rainfall series to predict the runoff response under future climate changes. The average certainty coefficient of the HEC-HMS model for daily runoff simulation reached 0.705; the rainfall in the basin under the two climate scenarios of SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 in the next 30 years (2021–2050) will generally increase, and rainfall will be more evenly distributed in the future; the outlet flow of the basin will increase during the wet season (June–September) in the next 30 years, but it is lower than the historically measured value; the peak flow of the future will appear at most in August and September. The peak flow current time mostly appears in July and August. The time of peak occurrence has been delayed.
Lake ecosystems play an important role in regional ecological security and the sustainable development of the economy and society. In order to study the evolution of landscape patterns and the main driving forces in the Chagan Lake Nature Reserve in recent years, we used landscape type data from 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2019 to study the characteristics of the regional landscape’s structural changes. At the same time, the spatial heterogeneity of the driving factors of landscape change was analyzed using the spatial analysis method, and the driving mechanism of landscape change was quantitatively analyzed. The results showed that: (1) from 2005 to 2019, the area of cultivated land, marshland, and water bodies increased, while the area of grassland and the area of bare land decreased. (2) The dominant patch types in the study area formed good connectivity, and the degree of landscape fragmentation increased. (3) In the past 15 years, there has been spatial heterogeneity in the regression coefficients of different driving factors of landscape change: the area with a greater influence of the elevation factor was in the south; the regression coefficient of precipitation showed the spatial distribution characteristics of highs in the west and lows in the east; the gross domestic product had a greater impact on the east and the south; the spatial variation of grain yield was mainly reflected in the southeast and northwest regions; the fishery yield gradually changed from high in the southeast and low in the northwest to the distribution characteristic of decreasing from the east to the southwest; the lake fluorine content showed a distribution pattern that gradually changed from high in the southeast and low in the northwest to high in the middle and low in the north and south; the distribution pattern of the distance to oil production changed from north to southeast to south to north; the distance to the road changed from high in the east and low in the west to the opposite spatial distribution pattern. (4) The interaction of precipitation and lake fluoride content with other factors showed a strong driving effect, which had a significant impact on the landscape change of Chagan Lake Nature Reserve. Since the study area is located in a typical fluorine-rich geochemical environment, human activities, such as the expansion of irrigation areas around Chagan Lake and groundwater exploitation, have accelerated the dissolution of fluorine-containing minerals, promoted the enrichment process of fluorine in Chagan Lake, and enhanced the explanatory power of lake fluorine content in terms of landscape changes. At the same time, the increase in precipitation during the study period is beneficial to the growth of vegetation and the storage of water in lakes, which promotes changes in landscape types such as grasslands and areas of water.
