Semimetallic friction composites with and without bionic non-smooth structure were prepared and then tested to evaluate their friction wear properties. The variation of friction coefficients of the friction composites is relatively steady. The friction coefficients of the testing sample with bionic non-smooth structure of NO.2, NO.3 and NO.4 were lower than that without bionic structure. The wear rate of the friction composites greatly increased under a temperature increasing procedure, especially when the temperature exceeds 250uC. The wear rates of the testing samples of NO.2 and NO.3 are the lowest compared with others (NO.1 and NO.4) at various temperatures except for 100uC. The worn morphology of the friction composites after the friction testes was observed using the scanning electron microscope for analysing the worn characteristics. The results showed that the bionic structure of testing samples of NO.2 and NO.3 had better wear resistance and provide stable friction coefficient compared with others.
ABTRAK Kemasan plastik fleksibel merupakan salah satu kemasan yang dibutuhkan dalam mengemas suatu produk makanan dan produk lainnya dalam bentuk, solid, powder, dan liquid. Pada kemasan plastik fleksibel dengan campuran material komposit ( LDPE-Nilon-Al ) menunjukan bahwa variasi suhu sealing 160 °C adalah suhu yang paling baik karena pada suhu tersebut hasil permukaan sealing pada kemasan plastik fleksibel terlihat lebih sedikit mengalami kerusakan akibat perlakuan panas. Berdasarkan karakteristik pengujian Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) terlihat morfologi permukaan material komposit ( LDPE-Nilon-AL ) memiliki hasil permukaan yang baik dan memiliki hasil terbesar pada komposisi unsur rata – rata carbon 68,89 wt%. Hasil pengujian kuat tarik hasil sealing dengan standard ASTM F88 yang didapatkan adalah 106 N. Sementara itu, hasil karakteristik spectra FTIR menunjukan gugus fungsi N-H secondary amide stretching, O-Al-OH, dan C-H alkil pada bilangan gelombang 3297,66 cm-1, 1199,50 cm-1, dan 2933,18 cm-1. ABSTRACT Flexible packaging is one of the packages needed to package a food product and other products in solid, powder, and liquid forms. In flexible plastic packaging with a mixture of composite materials (LDPE-Nylon-Al) shows that the variation of the sealing temperature of 160 °C is the best temperature because at that temperature the sealing surface on flexible plastic packaging looks less damaged due to heat treatment. Based on the SEM test, it can be seen that the surface morphology of the composite material (LDPE-Nylon-AL) has a good surface yield and has the largest yield at an average composition of 68.89 wt% carbon. The results of the tensile strength test for sealing with the ASTM F88 standard obtained are 106 N.
