Introduction: : The percentage of Indonesians who practice self-medication is high. Improper self-medication and lack of knowledge about the disease will cause new problems. Sociodemographic and sociocognitive factors can indirectly influence self-medication behavior. There is no research on urticaria self-medication in Malang City. This study aims to determine the influence of sociodemographic on the attitude of self-medication in Malang City. Methods: Research with cross sectional analytic descriptive design using validated questionnaire with Pearson’s correlation. Respondents in this study were 251 Malang citizens consisting of the control group (n=97) and the test group (n=154). Respondents in the control group were citizens who had never experienced urticaria, while respondents in the test group were citizens who had or are experiencing urticaria. Data analysis using Mann Whitney and Rank Spearman with significant result if p<0,05. Results: The control group was obtained as many as 97 respondents while the test group obtained 154 respondents. Most respondents are 51-55 years old and the gender being dominated by woman. Most of the respondents education level is college graduated. Most of the respondents salary are more than 4 million Indonesian Rupiah. There were significant difference between control and test group on educational characteristics (p 0,001 and r 0,257). However, there were no significant result on other characteristics. Conclusion: Education level affects the attitude on self-medication of Malang citizens.
