Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) merupakah salah satu unit usaha yang berperan cukup penting pada sektor perekonomian Indonesia. Banyaknya UMKM yang tetap eksis meskipun perekonomian nasional sedang lesu membuat UMKM menjadi unit bisnis yang dapat mengurangi pengangguran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui permasalahan UMKM dalam melakukan pencatatan adminstrasi. Untuk itu dilakukan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengambil sampel sebanyak 12 UMKM yang memproduksi kerupuk mentah di Kecamatan Krembung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara terstruktur. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara diketahui bahwa sebagian UMKM tidak melakukan pencatatan administrasi dengan baik, sehingga UMKM sering keliru pada proses produksi. UMKM berkeinginan untuk dapat melakukan pencatatan adminstrasi yang baik. Untuk itu dirancang sistem informasi produksi yang dapat dapat menyimpan data konsumen, dapat mencatat pesanan sekaligus melakukan pengecekan kemampuan produksi untuk pesanan tersebut. Selain itu dengan sistem yang baru pemilik dapat mengetahui jadwal produksi sesuai tanggal pengambilan, mengetahui stok barang (kerupuk) dan bahan baku, melihat detail pemesan (nama, asal daerah, tanggal pemesanan, tanggal pengambilan, jenis dan jumlah kerupuk), dan jumlah kelebihan kerupuk. Dengan sistem ini UMKM dapat melihat status pembayaran, apakah pelanggan sudah membayar lunas atau kurang bayar, jika kurang bayar akan terlihat berapa kekurangan yang harus dibayar pelanggan.
Polyacetal is commonly used as bushing material because of its low coefficient of friction and self lubricant characteristics. The polyacetal is machined by using boring process to produce bushing in certain surface roughness. The objectives of this research are to optimize three independent parameters (depth of cut, feed rate and principal cutting edge angle) of boring process of polyacetal using high speed steel tool to achieve the highest material removal rate and the required surface roughness. Response Surface Methodology is used to investigate the influence of the parameters and optimize the boring process. The research shows that the influence of the boring process parameters on polyacetal is similar compared to on metal. The result reveals that the optimum result is achieved by applying the value of depth of cut, feed rate, and principal cutting edge angle is 2.9 × 10–3 m, 0.229 mm rev–1, and 99.1° respectively. By applying these values, the maximum material rate removal achieved in this research is 1263.4 mm3 s–1 and the surface roughness achieved is 1.57 × 10–6 m.

The problem which is often faced by small scale industry is the conventional problems, i.e. product quality, capacities, technology, management, marketing and capital. Its low quality of roof tile product yielded by Small and Middle Industry because of raw material quality, technological process applied, labour skill and equipments of production. While the capacity of production is influenced by labour skill, equipments of production and availability of raw material. Mechanism of roof tile press machine which is used during this time (existing equipment) by small scale roof tile industry is machine of manual press by exploiting arm torque. The weakness from this system is the lack of density of tile affected by low emphasis force (100 kgs) and long production cycle. This condition will produce roof tile with low density and low production capacity ( 80 roof liles per machine unit every hour). The solution offered to overcome the problem of quality and capacity of roof tile product is by improving the performance of production equipments, so that production process which is counducted can produce the better product and higher level production capacity. The old roof tile press machine will all its insuffiency will be substituted with the roof tile press machine using transmission power screw. The new design of press machine can produce the emphasis force 220 kgs and production capacity 150 roof tile per machine unit every 1 hour.
Rotary friction welding (RFW) result is much affected by heating and joining stage parameters. Heating stage is the period where friction takes place to generate heat at the interface. Parameters that alter the heating are friction pressure, friction time and rotation speed. In this work, experiment of RFW AISI 1045 and AISI 304 under different friction pressure and friction time was carried out. The objective was to investigate the relation between those parameters with the welding strength. The experiments were performed using one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) strategy. A polynomial model of relation between joint strength with friction pressure and friction time was developed. Welding efficiency of 81.7% from the AISI 304 base metal was attained. Optimum setting friction pressure of under constant friction time was 40 bar, whereas the optimum setting friction time under constant friction pressure was 5 seconds.
