A new device -a dc multimodule fuse (DCMF) -and a method of using it to limit short-circuit currents in the networks of large cities are proposed. Future short-circuit currents for the power system of the Moscow region are estimated, and from the results of investigations the optimum position for inserting the DCMF is found. It is shown that the use of the DCMF to limit short-circuit currents is more effective compared with using ordinary fuses and resonance-type devices.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
