A new oribatid mite species of the family Pediculochelidae, Paralycus nortoni sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on adult specimens collected from barks of dead Pinus massoniana Lamb. infested by Monochamus alternatus in Fuzhou city, China. This new species described here is the fourth species of the genus Paralycus in China. An updated key to the species of the genus Paralycus is provided.
A new species of the genus Hoplocheylus Atyeo and Baker (Acariformes: Heterostigmata: Tarsocheylidae), H. lindquisti Xu & Zhang sp. nov., is described based on larva, deutonymph, adult male and female specimens collected from the bark of dead Pinus massoniana Lamb. infested with Monochamus alternatus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in Fuzhou city, China. This is the first report of the genus Hoplocheylus and the family Tarsocheylidae in China.
The ontogenetic stages of a tenuipalpid mite, Tenuipalpus orilloi Rimando, are described with detailed illustrations of the larva, protonymph, deutonymph and adult male and female specimens recently collected from Evodia lepta (Spreng.) Merr. (Rutaceae) in the Fujian province of China. The ontogenetic changes in idiosomal and leg chaetotaxy are discussed.
