The key idea of the paper consists in suggestion that globalization focuses on the integration of different cultures under the umbrella of common ideas, norms and values. The globalization’s challenge is the necessity of searching the ways and methods of overcoming the intercultural barriers among different peoples. The purpose of the research is to analyze the issue of creating a symbolic system global culture, the access to cultural code of this system will help the participants of intercultural communication to minimize the barriers that prevent the mutual understanding. The author guesses that symbols can be seen as the creative technology for shaping universal layer of a global culture. To access this “layer” of a global culture, communication subjects must have a common cultural code. The creative information and communication technologies help subjects of intercultural communication to be able to reveal the cultural codes of other cultural systems. The author puts forward the idea of the need for shaping of the universal “cultural knowledge network” on creative digital platform. The knowledge of the symbol system of a global culture can help all peoples to open new perspective of transcultural communication in the context of creating common non-verbal language for mutual understanding.
Interest in the analysis of trust in social communications is due to the fact that modern society is subject to a number of global challenges in economics and politics. Young people, as the most susceptible and labile group of the population, may experience the negative impact of these challenges, coupled with a crisis of values and social guidelines. The purpose of the research is to analyze the perceptions of trust among bachelor students from Moscow universities in the context of social communications. Empirical data are presented by the results of a survey of full-time students living in Moscow and the Moscow Region (n = 441, 2021). The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is formed by the theories of trust of Russian and foreign researchers (F. Fukuyama, Yu. Lo, P.M. Doni, V.Yu. Stolyar, P.M. Kozyreva, S.V. Ryzhova, et al.). The scientific novelty of the study is the identified patterns of the phenomenon of trust in the youth environment. The results of the study show the ambiguity of the interpretation of trust by students. In building trusting relationships, honesty, openness and sincerity are most significant for students. Most consider it impossible to have relationships without trust with relatives and friends. In intercultural communications, it is easier for students to trust post-Soviet citizens. For barriers of trust, the most significant was the socio-cultural barrier (difference in mentality, norms, values, the presence of stereotypes, etc.), as well as the language barrier. The conclusions and recommendations presented in the article can be used in further research on student trust, as well as for making managerial decisions to strengthen the value of trust in education.
Yulia P. Ten Rostov branch of Russian customs academyRostov-on-Don, Russian Federation science-almanac@mail.ruThe Russian Federation is one of the countries of the Black Sea region cultural zone. Since the ancient times, the territory of the South of Russia has been a zone of dialogue of different cultures, religions and civilizations. In the process of intercultural communication, representatives of different cultures have been aware of the degree of intercultural differences between them. The author justifies the thesis that communication between representatives with a similar cultural background has wider prospects for mutual understanding than communication between communicators with different cultural bases. The article analyzes the problem of growth and reduction of cultural differences between post-Soviet countries. In particular, the author points to the fact that the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union is a factor that promotes the effectiveness of intercultural communication between the member countries of this union.Key words: culture, cultural differences, intercultural communication, symbols as a non-verbal means of intercultural communication, cultures of the Black Sea area, the Eurasian Economic Union. [Ю.П.
The author offers the symbolic approach to understanding the nature of the construction of the Eurasian identity in the framework of the EAEU as the result of (dis-)integration and (dis-)connection with the Soviet symbols. The goal of the research is to provide the interdisciplinary analysis of shaping the EAEU’s symbolic identity. The symbolic and dialectic approaches are used. The main idea consists in the suggestion that the symbols are social technology of creating EAEU’s identity. The article argues that EAEU’s symbolic system is shaping on the logic of (dis-)connection and (dis)integration with the meanings of the symbolic system of the USSR. The dialectic logic of integration and connection means greater interaction of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Russia. A logic of history of integration and connection is determined on the attempt to revive the Soviet symbols which can be the basis for the construction of common symbolic system. The inner strength of such integrative process lies in the fact that the new phenomenon of the EAEU is not seeking the reincarnation of the old symbols of the Soviet era, serving the expression of utopian ideas. The key findings of the research can be the basis for the practical recommendations in terms of the Eurasian cultural policy.
