AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendiskripsikan penggunaan nursery rhymes untuk mengembangkan karakter anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menganalisis tiga nursery rhymes yaitu "A Wise Old Owl", "Baa Baa Black Sheep", dan "The North Wond Doth Blow" dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tiga nursery rhymesini merupakan media yang efektif untuk mendidik karakter anak. Nursery rhymes ini dapat meningkatkan cinta anak didik kepada Tuhan dan ciptaannya. Metode ini juga mampu menjadikan orang yang rendah hati, hormat dan mengasihi orang lain. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, penggunaan nursery rhymes di kelas dapat mengembangkan karakter anak-anak usia dini. It analyses three nursery rhymes, namely "A Wise Old Owl", "Baa Baa Black Sheep", and "The North Wind Doth Blow".The study employed descriptive qualitative method and the results of the study shown those three nursery rhymescould be seen as effective media for teachers to teach character education to the young learners. Those nursery rhymescould increase young learners' love toward God and all the things in this universe, it also able to transform them into people with good-humble, respectful-well mannered and affectionate-care characters. Thus, based on the results of this study, the use of nursery rhymes in the classroom was capable of improving young learners' characters. Seperti yang dikatakan Tilaar, bahwa beberapa indikator gagalnya membangun moral dan kepribadian bangsa antara lain adalah sering terjadinya perilaku yang penuh dengan kekerasan, perbuatan curang, tidak menghormati figur orang yang lebih tua, kejam terhadap sesama, mementingkan diri sendiri, kurang berkembang sikap demokratis, menurunnya tanggung jawab sebagai warga negara, dan perilaku merusak diri (2000:51). Megawangi (2010) menambahkan bahwa fakta di atas menunjukkan bahwa institusi pendidikan Indonesia telah gagal dalam menumbuhkan manusia Indonesia yang berkarakter atau berakhlak mulia. Background: The process of learning creates interaction and coordination and finding solution. Students who are engaged in that process will find themselves useful as they have shared ideas. Sharing ideas is a significant part. Aims and Objective: This study aims to describe the application of mind mapping in music learning as an effort to increase students' critical thinking. It has not been commonly applied in practical music learning processes. Materials and Methods: This research was conducted with a total of 75 students of music education who took violin subject. Initially, they discussed the issue that related with a song, and it was followed by mind mapping to find the ideas. Results: Through this process, students are expected to get a comprehensive understanding, and obtain effectively relevant guidelines regarding the material that must be trained. Conclusion: Exceedingly students can generate critical thinking, which later give influence in song interpretation.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu proses pengembangan kemampuan musikalitas guru di TK Panti Dewi Berbah Sleman sehingga kemampuan guru dalam bernyanyi dan mengiringi menjadi lebih optimal. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan April sampai November 2017 menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan, dengan prosedur perencanaan, pelaksanaan, penilaian hasil, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan musikalitas guru semakin berkembang. Hal ini tampak pada hasil penilaian mendapat kategori baik meliputi kemampuan dasar bernyanyi dengan komponen artikulasi, intonasi dan ritmis, serta kemampuan dasar mengiringi dengan komponen harmoni akord, irama, dan tangga nada. Dengan cara melatih guru memahami membaca notasi musik, peka terhadap nada, irama dan tempo serta mengiringi lagu menggunakan keyboard, tindakan ini telah berhasil membantu guru di TK Panti Dewi dalam mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan musikalitasnya.Kata kunci: pengembangan, kemampuan musikalitas, guru DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHERS’ MUSICAL ABILITY IN KINDERGARTEN PANTI DEWI BERBAH SLEMANAbstractThis study aims to assist the process of the development of teachers’ musical ability in kindergarten Panti Dewi Berbah Sleman so that the ability of teachers in singing and accompanying to be more optimal. The study was conducted from April to November 2017 using action research method, with planning procedures, implementation, results assessment and reflection. The results showed that the teachers’ musical abilities were growing. It can be seen from the result that it was categorised as good category in the basic ability to sing with articulation, intonation and rhythmic components and basic ability to accompany with chord, rhythm and cadence harmony components. Through training, teachers understand how to read music notes, sensitive to tone, rhythm, and tempo and use the keyboard while singing, this action has successfully helped teachers at Panti Dewi Kindergarten in developing and improving their musical ability.Keywords: development, musical ability, teachers
Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan latar belakang penciptaan lagu Terima Kasih Guruku, sebagai upaya merespon kebutuhan akan minimnya lagu yang berisikan penghargaan terhadap profesi guru di Indonesia. Proses penciptaan dilakukan melalui tahapan membaca berbagai literature tentang guru, musik pop dan trend music zaman sekarang yang sesuai dengan generasi Z. Selain itu, ada inspirasi dari rasa terima kasih yang mendalam terhadap perjuangan dan pengorbanan guru selama masa sekolah yang membekas dalam. Pengetahuan yang didapat selama masa sekolah telah membuahkan kesuksesan di masa depan. The knowledge which was acquired in the school give extra help in reaching successful life today. In teaching learning process, this song is used as media in the video under e-learning mode of study in UNY in numbers of courses.
