P-p'-dioxydiphenylsulpfone, p-nitro--p'-methylbenzylidenaniline, 3-metoxy-4--oxybenzaldehyde crystals are obtained of high optical quality. Refraction index dispersion, nonlinear susceptibility tensor components values, symmetry classes are determined. It is shown that the crystals posses high nonlinear susceptibility along with wide range of transparency and high laser damage threshold. A new method is considered of nonlinear susceptibility measurements.
The results of the tests for the second harmonics generation in powders of halogenosubstituted mtrodiphenyls are presented. The 4,4'-iodine-nitrodiphenyl single crystals have been grown from a solution, their linear and nonlinear optical characteristics have been measured. The Miller's constant for this crystal is one of the largest among investigated as far as we know.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
