The performance of teachers from several State Islamic Senior High School (MAN) in Kota Padang Panjang was classified as not optimal yet, that led to lack of performance in finishing the teachers’ task and function in this New Normal era. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the principal’s leadership and emotional intelligence on the performance of MAN teachers in Kota Padang Panjang during the New Normal era. This research used quantitative method to determine the problems occurred in the field. The population of this study were 173 teachers, with the research samples chosen was 116 people. The sample was chosen by using Cochran technique, namely stratified proportional random sampling. The data were collected by using questionnaires. Then, they were analyzed by SPSS version 17. The results of this study showed that: (1) The positive and significant effect of the principal's leadership on the performance of MAN Kota Padang Panjang teachers: The effect of the principal’s leadership on the performance of MAN Kota Padang Panjang teachers was 0.357 with a coefficient of determination of 0.1274 or (12.74%); (2) The positive and significant effect of emotional intelligence on the performance of MAN Kota Padang Panjang teachers: Performance of MAN Kota Padang Panjang teachers during the New Normal era was determined by intelligence emotional, that was equal to 0.302 with a coefficient of determination of 0.0912 or 09.12%; (3) The positive and significant effect of both principal’s leadership and emotional intelligence on the performance of MAN Kota Padang Panjang teachers  in the New Normal era, and the performance of MAN Kota Padang Panjang teachers in the New Normal era were determined by the principal’s leadership and emotional intelligence altogether by 0.652 with a coefficient of determination of 0.42.51 or 42.51%.  Keywords: Emotional intelligence, Principal’s leadership, Teacher’s performance

Seorang guru menyadari bahwa titik pusat tujuan sekolah menyediakan program pendidikan yang direncanakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan pendidikan, pribadi dan kebutuhan kemasyarakatan serta kepentingan individu para siswa. Siswa merupakan klien utama yang harus dilayani, oleh sebab itu siswa harus dilibatkan secara aktif dan tepat, tidak hanya dalam proses belajar mengajar melainkan juga di dalam kegiatan sekolah. Di SMP Negeri 4 Siak Hulu, berdasarkan pengamatan di lapangan pada pelajaran jenis gerak makhluk hidup ditemukan fenomena pencapaian hasil belajar siswa kurang dari KKM atau dikatakan belum berhasil. Penerapan metode tanya jawab diduga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa mengidentifikasi jenis gerak. Melalui metode penelitian tindakan kelas dan disurvey kepada siswa kelas VIII dan dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif, maka hasil menunjukkan perolehan hasil belajar melalui tanya jawab  Siklus I, II dan III ketuntasan individual baru mencapai 42.5, 52.5 dan 77.5 Potret pembelajaran IPA sudah mencapai tujuan dengan standar KKM 71. Terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar IPS  materigerak pada makhluk hidupdengan menerapkan metode tanya jawab  sehingga hasil belajar mengalami peningkatan

The Merdeka Curriculum is a part of the Ministry of Education and Culture's efforts to address long-standing learning problems, exacerbated by the Covid-19 epidemic. Low student learning outcomes, especially in basic areas such as reading literacy, define this problem. Teachers and principals are important components in the successful implementation of teaching and learning activities. Therefore, a teacher must really understand the curriculum, starting from a theoretical understanding to its application in the classroom, which is always under the supervision of the principal. The purpose of this study was to determine the supervision tools used in the implementation of the education unit level curriculum (KTSP) at the elementary school level in Padang Panjang City, West Sumatra. The data collection procedures used in this study are: (1) in-depth interviews, (2) participant observation, and (3) documentation study. The findings of this study include nine techniques used by principals in the supervision process during the implementation of the independent curriculum (KKM) at the primary school level using the instruments used, namely. (1) review of learning administration; (2) review of the flow of learning objectives; (3) review of learning modules; and (4) evaluation of learning implementation every school year
