Bamboo has high tensile strength, so it can be an alternative to substitute wood or steel. Bamboo is a material that comes from nature, so it is vulnerable to degraded by weather changes and infected by termites and fungi. The effort to overcome this problem is by preserving before using it. This study aims to determine the tensile strength test results of bamboo after preserving and then compare with the tensile strength test results of bamboo without preserving. The research method was carried out by preserving bamboo by soaking the test sample in a container filled with water for a duration of time; 1 x 24 hours; 3 x 24 hours and 14 x 24 hours. The water used in freshwater with a salinity of 0 0/00 measured using a salinometer. The results showed that the tensile strength of bamboo increased compared without preserved with a percentage of 12.50%; 23.12% and 10.59% for the duration of time respectively 1x24 hours; 3x24 hours and 14x24 hours. Optimal tensile strength is obtained at a time duration of 3 x 24 hours and decreases at a longer time duration of 14x24 hours.
Bamboo is a natural material that can replace wood, but the bamboo weakness is easily attacked by powder beetle and a bad connection system. a simple method of bamboo connection system often uses fibbers, ropes or rattan. However, this method cannot guarantee the unity of structural elements, over time the bonds will become saggy because the shrinkage that is affected by temperature changes. Another alternative can be done by using the bolt or the Cendani bamboo (Bambusa multiplex) as shear connector. The purpose of research is to know the ability of the bolt and the Cendani bamboo the shear connector in an element structures of bamboo. The research method is done by combining three pieces of bamboo with mortar filler using the bolt and Cendani bamboo as a shear connector, then apply the load to the ultimate limit. The result showed that use of bolt as the shear connector was stronger than Cendani bamboo. This is available with the results of the higher tensile strength of the bolt compared by the tensile strength of Cendani bamboo.
Background: Rational use of drugs plays a role in reducing morbidity and mortality in the community associated with the treatment of disease. Acute respiratory infections (ARI), diarrhea, and myalgia are diseases that are still commonly found and treated in primary health centers, so far the three diagnoses are considered potential for irrational treatment. Data from existing reports can actually be used to identify the rationality of rational drug use, but until now the quality of report data is still poor. Therefore, how interventions can improve the quality of reporting the performance indicators of rational drug use in the Karawang District. Objective: To improve the quality of reporting on performance indicators of rational drug use (POR) in Karawang District. Methods: This study used a Quasi-Experimental research design with one- group pretest-posttest design, without a comparison group (control), in Karawang District in January - March 2020. Twenty officers reporting rational drug use in primary health centers were selected by purposive sampling. Results: Training interventions can improve the quality of reporting the performance indicators of rational drug use from the results of increased pretest after the training intervention (posttest) namely; report preparation process 25% to 80%, report completeness from 45% to 95%, timeliness from 15% to 75%, report compliance with technical instructions from 0% to 75%. Conclusion: Providing interventions in the form of explanations of technical guidelines for rational drug use and training has been proven to improve the quality of reporting on performance indicators of rational drug use.
