Introduction: Since the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia and face-to-face learning in schools has been replaced by online methods, this does not mean that school students can be free from the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. There are still no banners, and educational activities on the prevention of the COVID-19 virus for residents of the MAN City School Palangka Raya. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge and awareness for students in carrying out health protocols, one of which is also to prepare for face-to-face learning.Methods: Online Implementation of activities for 50 students of MAN City School Palangka Raya, the activity began by taking care of the administration of permits to schools, followed by the implementation of a series of activities in the form of education about COVID-19 and how to implement health protocols in the school environment following the guidelines of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The method of activity is done by teaching and Q&A. Before giving pre-test material and afterward post-test.Results: After being given education, the post-test score of knowledge about COVID-19 showed an increase in the average score of 13%. Participants seemed enthusiastic at the discussion session, indicated by the number of questions from participants. Conclusion: Health protocol management education can increase participants' knowledge.
The incidence of diabetes mellitus shows an increasing prevalence today. This condition is influenced by the lack of knowledge of clients in the management of Diabetes Mellitus. Efforts to increase knowledge can be done through education using media and effective methods. The use of audiovisual media is believed to be the most effective media in conveying information. Education in this study used audiovisual media that was applied in conjunction with the demonstration method. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of education with audiovisual media and demonstration methods on the ability to do foot exercises in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the work area of KerengBangkirai Health Center, Palangka Raya. The research method used was a quasy experiment with one group pre and post-test design. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling as many as 30 peoples. The results showed that there were differences in knowledge and ability to do foot exercise before and after the education which was shown from the results of the paired t-test obtained p-value = 0,000 <a = 0.05. Foot exercise education with audiovisual media and demonstrations had an effect on the ability to do foot exercise in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the working area of Kereng Bangkirai Health Center.
Abstrak: World Health Organization (WHO) menyatakan lansia dan seseorang dengan penyakit penyerta memiliki mortalitas yang tinggi jika tertular virus corona. Penyakit penyerta salah satunya adalah penyakit tidak menular (PTM) seperti hipertensi dan DM. Kepatuhan dalam menerapkan protokol kesehatan seperti menggunakan masker, sering mencuci tangan dengan sabun, menjaga jarak (social distancing), menjauhi kerumunan dan mengurangi mobilitas (5M), merupakan upaya pencegahan yang bisa dilakukan agar terhindar dari penularan virus corona. Tujuan kegiatan adalah agar pasien DM dan Hipertensi dapat menerapkan tindakan bersih dan sehat serta menjalankan protokol kesehatan secara disiplin agar terhindar dari penularan Covid-19. Metode pengabdian masyarakat adalah dengan memberikan penyuluhan kepada 50 orang pasien. Hasil kegiatan diperoleh adanya peningkatan pengetahuan antara sebelum pre-test (16%) dan post test (74%). Pemberian edukasi harus terus diberikan kepada pasien khususnya dengan penyakit penyerta agar tetap patuh dalam melaksanakan protokol kesehatan di era adaptasi kebiasaan baru.Abstract: WHO says that people who are elderly and have the disease have a high mortality if they contract the coronavirus. One of them is a non-communicable disease such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus (DM). Compliance in implementing health protocols such as using masks, frequently washing hands with soap, maintaining distance (social distancing), staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility (5M) is a preventive effort that somebody can be done to avoid coronavirus transmission. The purpose of the activity is so that DM and Hypertension can implement clean and healthy measures and carry out health protocols in a disciplined manner to avoid transmission of Covid-19. The method of community service is to provide counseling to 50 patients. The activity results increased obtained in knowledge before the pre-test (16%) and the post-test (74%). Health education should continue to be provided to patients, especially with accompanying diseases, to remain compliant in implementing health protocols in the era of new habit adaptation.
