Background: Despite the increasing use of robotic distal gastrectomy (RDG) in patients with gastric cancer (GC), its safety and efficacy compared to those of laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG) have not been elucidated in a randomized controlled trial (RCT). We aimed to evaluate the short-term outcomes of patients with GC who received RDG or LDG. Methods: Three hundred patients with cT1-4a and N0/+ between September 2017 and January 2020 were enrolled in this RCT at a high-volume hospital in China. The short-term outcomes were compared between the groups.
Background: Surufatinib (S, a small-molecule inhibitor of VEGFR1-3, FGFR1 and CSF-1R) plus toripalimab (T, an anti-PD-1 antibody) showed encouraging antitumor activity in solid tumors. Here, we report the results of 3 cohorts of advanced G/GEJ adenocarcinoma, ESCC and NEC of an ongoing, multi-cohort, phase 2 study of S + T (NCT04169672).Methods: Patients (pts) with histologically confirmed G/GEJ adenocarcinoma or advanced/metastatic ESCC or advanced NEC who progressed after 1L systemic chemotherapy were enrolled in cohorts A, B, C, respectively. Eligible pts received 21day cycles of S (250 mg orally QD) plus T (240 mg IV, Q3W). The primary endpoint was objective response rate (ORR) per RECIST 1.1.
significantly lower in EP compared to patients aged <70 years (5.5 vs 13 months (m) HR 3.86; IC 2.073-7.214; P < 0.0001). Progression-free survival (PFS) was significantly worse for EP than for younger patients (1.8 vs 3.6m, HR 2.1; IC 1.181 -3.744; P ¼ 0.012). Regarding toxicity, 30.6% irAEs were reported. There were no statistically significant differences in terms of irAEs between EP and younger patients (P ¼ 0.535). The development of irAEs was associated with better PFS in younger patients (13.3 vs 5.5m, HR 0.45; IC 0.244 -0.840; P ¼ 0.012) without significant impact on OS.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
