Andrographis paniculata Ness is one of the plants that is under explored and could contain potentially active substances to serve as an antimalarial. Structure investigation of major compounds that have responsibility for the antimalarial activity of Andrographis paniculata Ness’s n-hexane extract is very important so that it is known whether the antimalarial activity is synergistic or from the major compounds. Menthol and dioctyladipate as major component from n-hexane extract of Andrographis paniculata Ness have been succesfully isolated using simple and inexpensive methods. The solvent system used are n-hexane : ethyl acetate (10:1) and n-hexane: chloroform (10:3) consecutively either for column or preparative thin layer chromatography. FT-IR, 1H-NMR and GC-MS were used to determine the structure of compounds. The activity of n-hexane extract, menthol and dioctyladipate related to the inhibition of heme polymerization have been done comprehensively. The inhibition of heme polymerization activity of isolate compounds and n-hexane extract are classified to a good level (dioctyl adipate IC50 = 1.15 ± 0.41 mg/mL, menthol IC50 = 0.31 ± 0,01 mg/mL, and n-hexane extract IC50 = 0.07 ± 0.03 mg/mL) and potentially as antimalarial. From the IC50, the antimalarial activity of Andrographis paniculata Ness’s n-hexane extract is working synergistically, not by the major compounds.
ASI menjadi satu-satunya sumber gizi yang menjamin keberlanjutan nutrisi bagi bayi pasca intrauterin, khususnya 6 bulan pertama kelahirannya. Makanan yang dikonsumsi oleh ibu menyusui bermanfaat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi dirinya dan untuk menghasilkan ASI. Variasi makanan ibu dapat menyebabkan perubahan profil asam lemak dan kadar makro serta mikronutrien dalam ASI. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan teknik total sampling sebanyak 73 responden. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui determinan faktor yang berhubungan dengan pengetahuan tentang optimalisasi nutrisi bagi ibu menyusui.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar tingkat pengetahuan responden berada pada tingkat cukup sebanyak 48 responden (65.8%). Ada hubungan antara faktor usia (p=0.026) dan faktor pendidikan (p=0.010) dengan tingkat pengetahuan, sedangkan faktor pekerjaan (p=0.171) dan pengalaman dalam hal ini status pemberian ASI (p=0.074) menunjukkan hasil tidak ada hubungan dengan tingkat pengetahuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa usia dan pendidikan menjadi determinan faktor yang berhubungan dengan pengetahuan tentang optimalisasi nutrisi bagi ibu menyusui.
Quantitative analysis in the integrated laboratory of Jombang District Agriculture Office has been done on two samples of organic fertilizer with phosphorus and potassium parameters, considering these two elements are macronutrients which have an important role in the growth and development of plants. Determination of phosphorus level has been done by ascorbic acid method using double beam UV-Visible spectrophotometer, while determination of potassium level has been done by flame photometric method. There are 2 samples code of organic fertilizer, 13/F/16 and 14/F/16. From the result of analysis, the phosphorus level as P2O5 in 13/F/16 sample is 0.275%, while in the 14/F/16 sample is 0.29%. The potassium level as K2O in 13/F/16 sample is 2.58%, while in the 14/F/16 sample is 2.67%. These results meet the requirements for compost quality standards based on SNI 19-7030-2004, because they exceed the minimum requirements, which are 0.10% for phosphorus level and 0.20% for potassium level.
Batrocera carambolae was one of the main pests in some types of fruits. This pest attack resulted in quantitative damage in the form of fall of young fruit and qualitatively in the form of fruit to rot and contains maggots. This research was conducted to determine selected extract from Andrographis Paniculata Ness, Piper betle Linn and Acacia auriculiformis leaves which have repellent activity for Batrocera carambolae. Nine extracts from the maceration process of the three leaves were evaluated by placing the extracts and flies together in the cage. The ethanol, ethyl acetate, and n-hexane extracts from Andrographis Paniculata Ness, Piper betle Linn and Acacia auriculiformis leaves were applied to the test pieces and fed into a cage containing 10 male and female flies.
ABSTRAKBatrocera carambolae adalah salah satu hama utama pada beberapa jenis buah-buahan, terutama pada belimbing. Serangan hama ini mengakibatkan kerusakan kuantitatif berupa jatuhnya buah muda dan secara kualitatif berupa buah menjadi busuk dan berisi belatung. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan ekstrak terbaik dari daun Sambiloto, Sirih dan Akasia yang memiliki aktivitas penolak lalat buah Batrocera carambolae. Sembilan ekstrak dari proses maserasi ketiga daun tersebut dievaluasi dengan menempatkan ekstrak dan lalat bersama-sama di dalam kandang. Esktrak etanol, etil asetat, dan n-heksana dari daun Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata Ness), Sirih (Piper betle Linn) dan Akasia (Acacia auriculiformis) dioleskan pada buah uji dan dimasukkan ke dalam kandang yang berisi 10 lalat jantan dan betina. Dari pengamatan, esktrak n-heksana daun Sambiloto, ekstrak n-heksana daun Sirih dan ekstrak etil asetat daun akasia memiliki aktivitas yang baik sebagai ovipositing repellent dan memiliki potensi untuk digunakan sebagai insect ovipositing repellent dari Batrocera carambolae.
