Teaching and learning process is constantly transforming due to the ever-increasing globalization. In the educational sector the use of information and communication technology (ICT) is constantly changing due to the increasing trend in globalization. This has resulted in the change and transformation the facet of education in this 21st century. The various usage of technologies and other forms of learning materials that have been extensively used has created a medium where students able to be interactive because it is learner centred, and the environment of online learning is more open and flexible. However, several studies showed that students prefer traditional classroom more because they would prefer face-to-face communication with their instructor. Thus, this study intends to explore the perspective of learning listening and speaking using online among L2 learners. A total number of 102 university students at UiTM Perak Branch took part in this study. They were instructed to answer a set of questionnaires which was created using google document. From the findings the students reported that they do see the benefits of online learning. In addition, they found learning through this interactive medium as interesting and provide them space to progress at their own pace in learning. However, this does not portray students’ eagerness in which may be due to several factors. This study is hoped to able to highlight the positive aspects of using online as an alternative to the traditional way of teaching listening and speaking.

In this 21st century, the teaching and learning concept is focusing more on student-centered learning and teacher acts as a facilitator during the process. Most of the issues highlighted are circling around the school students' problems in conversing English and they are unable to work well in group activities as well. Hereby, our team uses the implementation of cooperative learning model Fan-n-Pick for this innovated product. This product aims to enhance primary school students' vocabulary skills and encourage them to work well in group. This product features colourful stacks of cards to be played among four to five players in a group. Therefore, this innovated product is expected to have a good commercial value for primary school students, educators or other sectors.
Vocabulary learning strategies (VLSs) play a significant role in assisting language learners in the development of language learning. A quantitative study was conducted to explore VLSs employed by undergraduate ESL learners in a public university. Data were collected from a group of 197 ESL learners from three faculties–Accountancy, Applied Science, and Computer and Mathematical Science–in the university. An adopted VLSs questionnaire by Gu & Johnson (1996) was used to answer two research questions: (1) to find the most and least preferred strategies and 2) to identify if there is any significant difference between the ESL learners in three different faculties–Accountancy, Applied Science, and Computer and Mathematical Science - in terms of their vocabulary learning strategies preference. The results were gathered using descriptive analysis and one-way ANOVA followed by a post-hoc test. The results of the study revealed that note taking, memory and guessing using linguistic clues were the three most preferred strategies while guessing using background knowledge and activation were the least preferred ones. In addition, the data also unveiled that there was a significant difference between Accountancy students and Applied Science students as well as Computer and Mathematical Science students both in guessing strategies. It is hoped that the findings of this study can shed some light to the teaching and learning process whereby the educators could employ the best VLSs to assist students in vocabulary learning while learners could be aware of strategies that suit them best.
