0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2) are prepared by solid state reaction of stoichiometric mixtures of BaCO3, ZrO2, CeO2, Yb2O3, and Y2O3 (ball milling in EtOH for 48 h, calcination in air at 1100°C, 20 h). BaZr0.1Ce0.7Y0.1Yb0.1O3-δ exhibits very high ionic conductivity below 750°C and resists deactivation by carbon buildup from hydrocarbon fuels and H2S poisoning. It is an attractive electrolyte or electrode component for solid oxide fuel cells of high power output at lower temperatures. The material may also be used as a catalyst for reforming of hydrocarbon fuels and for removal of fuel gas contaminants such as sulfur. -(YANG, L.; WANG, S.; BLINN, K.; LIU, M.; LIU, Z.; CHENG, Z.; LIU*, M.;
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
