In this thesis, a unidirectional solidification model of NH4Cl solution is developed. The dynamics processes of the unidirectional solidification, such as temperature distribution and the location of phase interface are simulated timely. Based on those result data, the heat and mass transfer characteristic is analyzed. And it is found that with the stirring of the liquid zone, the temperature gradient in the liquid zone is decreased from 194 K/m to 24 K/m, and the thickness of the mush zone is enlarged.
In this paper, the flow-induced wall shear stress on the wall of a one Strand tundish has been computed by a 3-D mathematical model. Different design parameters of the tundish such as HB(the height of the dam) and DB(the horizontal distance between the dam and the outlet of the tundish) are studied by analyzing the flow-induced wall shear stress. After a series of calculation, A modification in design parameters (DB and HB )of the tundish can reduce the wall shear stress, thus may help to improve the service life of the tundish.
In this paper the Slab Caster Break-out Alarm ANN System is introduced, which has been developed with artificial intelligence and logic technique, knowledge of continuous casting expert system. The characteristics of the Slab Caster Break-out Alarm ANN System is that the breakout predict of the system is achieved with the logic breakout prediction module and BP neural network breakout module; The predicting results of the two methods are inputted into the expert system decision module, this module can provide the last predicting results. This would increase the prediction accuracy, and improve the process of slab continuous casting.
In this paper, CaO-Fe2O3-CaCl2and CaO-Fe3O4-CaCl2system dephosphorizer depho- -sphorization of the thermodynamics of the use of FactSage thermodynamic calculation software Equilib module of hot metal dephosphorization flux and the balance between the response calculated, to find the right dephosphorizer dephosphorization ratio and the conditions for optimal phosphorus removal. First of all, by the beginning of slag and the final calculated optical basicity slag and phosphate capacity, calculated on the balance FactSage software phosphorus content mapping, and comparative analysis. Followed by software at different temperatures to calculate the iron liquid, liquid slag, slag liquid solid phase of calcium phosphate and calcium phosphate and quality data on the thermodynamic equilibrium temperature mapping analysis..
Because the dynamic soft reduction of continuous casting process is based on the computation of the solidification end point, using model to simulating the steel solidificating process is more and more interesting. Especially, the influence of the heat flux to the solidification end point is needed to research thoroughly. In this paper the heat transfer model for the simulation of the solidification of steel droplet is established. The simulation reveals that the steel droplet (the radium is 7.2 mm) is solidified quickly in 4.3 seconds on water cooling copper plate, and in 3 seconds there is half of the droplet is frozen to solid. If there are materials resisting heat transfer inserted between cooling plate and liquid steel, the solidification end position would be moved to the deeper place below the shell in obvious extent, and the influence of heat flux to the ratio of mushy zone is weaker than that to solidification end point position.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
