We consider the problem of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) based large-scale multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) systems. A novel perturbation-assisted scheme is developed to reduce the PAPRs of the transmitted signals by exploiting the redundant degrees-of-freedom (DoFs) inherent in the large-scale antenna array. Specifically, we introduce artificial perturbation signals to the frequency-domain precoded signals, with the aim of reducing the PAPRs of their time-domain counterpart signals. Meanwhile, the additive perturbation signal associated with each tone is constrained to lie in the null-space of its associated channel matrix, such that it does not cause any multi-user inference or out-of-band radiations. Such a problem is formulated as a convex optimization problem, and an efficient algorithm is developed by resorting to the variable splitting and alterative direction method of multipliers (ADMM) techniques. Simulation results show that the proposed method has a fast convergence rate and achieves substantial PAPR reduction within only tens of iterations. In addition, unlike other precoding-based PAPR reduction methods, our proposed method which introduces perturbation signals to the precoded signals is independent of the precoding stage and thus could be more suitable for practical systems.
Abstract:Motor current signal analysis has been an effective way for many years to monitor electrical machines. However, little research work has been reported in using this technique for monitoring their downstream equipment due to difficulties in extracting weak fault signals in a noisy measured current signal. This paper investigates the characteristics of electrical current signals measured from an induction motor for monitoring faults from a downstream gear transmission system by a novel modulation signal (MS) bispectrum method. Both analytic analysis and experimental study are conducted based on a motor drive system and have found that the increase of bispectral peaks can be the basis of mechanical fault diagnosis. Particularly, a fault on a gear will causes a larger increase of the bispectral peak at both the gear shaft frequency and accompany with a smaller increase in the relating shaft frequency. However, a shaft misalignment only leads to a bispectrum peak increase at the shaft bifrequency along.
Since the output torque of the rotary reducer of the ZYL-15000D-kilometer directional drill is proportional to the gear train transmission ratio, the output torque is large enough when the input speed and output speed meet the design goal. This paper selects the method of reducing the transmission ratio to optimize the size parameters of the reducer. MATLAB genetic algorithm is used in the optimization design, and the minimum volume of the rotary part reducer is taken as the objective of optimization design, while the design variables and constraints are determined. The optimal value of design variables was obtained through optimization, and the parameter values of each gear were determined accordingly. Through analysis, the total volume of the optimized gear reducer was reduced by 49.6%. Then, the 3D model of the optimized gear was created, and the analysis of the transient dynamics of the optimized gear was carried out with ANSYS Workbench software. According to the analysis results, the optimized gear met the strength requirements and provided a reference for the subsequent optimization design of other types of gear reducers.
