A simulation system of CCD camera, by which the remote sensing image data may be got for small military target, is presented in the paper. The system can be used to determine the necessary pixel resolution requirement for remote sensing system, especially for reconnaissance satellite; to train interpreters for target recognition from remote sensing images; to examine the efficiency of camouflage technology. Some interesting results are given: airplanes, tanks and soldiers with pixel resolution 4.5m,3.Om,2.lm,l,lm,O.3m and O.2m. 1.THE SIMULATION SYSTEMThe main apparatus of the simulation system is an image-input-camera Eiconix 850, which is a CCD-line-array camera with 4096 pixels. It is used as the remote sensing camera in the system. Due to the low height ofthe camera, all targets in research must be very small. Some airplane and tank models with known scale factor are used as targets,a body with known length is used as reference to determine the system scale factor. Then a camera and film with high resolution are used to take the pictures oftargets at suitable height. The negative film then is put on the working area of Eiconix 850.By suitable adjustment the height of camera, the pixel resolution can be controlled,by suitable method the pixel resolution can be determined precisely. It is also possible to put some special resolution-test-pattern with targets to measure the "ground resolution", due to the size ofthe test pattern is very small,it is necessary to use microelectronic technology to keep the size and pattern precise. If the required military target is an airport, a missile base, or a naval port, it is difficult to make a complex model for them. Then an actual aerial photogrammetry image may be used as the model of targets. 2.SOME RESULTSIn our experiment two kinds of airplane model and two kinds of tank model are used as the targets, they are: an American naval trainer "T-2C/E Buckeye", which wing span is 11.9 m and scale factor is 1/72; an American civil airplane "Boeing 737", which wing span is 29 m and scale factor is 1/200; an American tank "Sherman M4A3" and a Russian tank "P o j H H a ", the length of both tank is 6.2 m and scale factor is 1/48. The photographs are shown in Fig. 1. There are four of "Buckeye", three of "737", two of" P o H H a "and two of "M4A3" in our experiment. In this paper, a method for measuring long microwave optical fiber delay line is presented, which can resolve phase ambiguity, filter leakage signal and reduce noise effect. An example is given by measuring an 8. 6 km externally modulated optical fiber delay line. The measured results demonstrated the efficiency of the measurement method.
