The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of bank capital on monetary policy transmission mechanism during the period from 2010 to 2016 for 20 Emerging Market Economics (EMEs) by using the two-step system generalized method of moments (GMM). The coefficient of excess capital in low-asset countries is found to be negative which reveals the importance of excess capital for the effectiveness of monetary transmission. However, the study could not find the significance of excess capital for high-asset countries as they may afford the risky way to generate their income by increasing the loan supply.
Obesity is a state of abnormal accumulation of fat in adipose tissues of the body to the level that one's health is adversely compromised. Tripathi et al. state (according to WHO) that obesity is now considered the fifth leading cause of mortality in the world. Caries is a multifactorial disease and one of the major oral health issues of the modern era affecting people around the globe. Rise in dental caries has been observed in developing countries as a result of factors including increased intake of carbohydrates. The present study aims for assessing the association of DMFT with BMI, age, and gender. This study was conducted in the dental OPD of the Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, from February 2016 till January 2017. A custom-made interview-based questionnaire was used to assess BMI, DMFT, and sociodemographics. The sample size was kept at 385. Age was reported as a strong predictor (R 2 0.641) of DMFT followed by BMI and gender as the weakest predictors. Age and BMI had statistically significant association with DMFT scores, which shows that diet patterns may affect general health. High caloric intake over long periods affects BMI and also oral health.
Objectives: To determine Morphological variations in Third Molars as seen on Panoramic Radiograph only, and determine a possible association of these variations with gender and different age groups divided into 5 groups from 18 years to 55 years, visiting Dental Department of Dow University of Health Sciences. Methodology:Retrospective Observational study based on OPG of patients visiting department of oral medicine and radiology at DOW University of health sciences, Karachi were selected. For purpose of our study OPG of 350 patients were selected. After considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria 240 radiographs of patients aged 18 years and older were included in this study. Age study samples were categorized into 5 age groups. Chi Square test was used to predict possible associations between 3 rd molars variations in morphology and Gender/Age groups. Results: Young Females had full bony mandibular impactions which was statistically significant X 2 (1): 2.32, P= 0.00. Increased variations in morphology such as multiple roots, long, fused and dilacerated roots were more prevalent in young individuals specially females. Conclusion: Variation in 3rd Molars are observed to vary among different age groups and Gender, further studies among different individuals from different ethnic backgrounds and culture will reveal new insights on these observed variations.
