People use mangrove as a traditional medicine that has a very high bioactive content potential, the content of this plant one of them can be used as an antioxidant. Antioxidants are substances that can delay, slow down and prevent oxidation. Antioxidant compounds can inhibit the chain reaction of free radical formation in the body, often referred to as a magical compound because it can counteract premature aging and various other diseases. The purpose of this research is to study the antioxidant activity of S. alba fruit with diameter of 2-3 cm taken around the coast of Nunuk Village Pinolosian Sub-district of Bolaang Mongondow Selatan Regency North Sulawesi with Phytochemical and DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) With a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 517 nm wavelength. The result of the analysis showed that the S. alba fruit contains: alkaloid, flavonoid, phenolic, tannin, steroid and triterpenoid with negative result and result of analysis of DPPH antio xidant activity from S. alba fruit is IC 50 =296.54 ppm. ABSTRAKSonneratia alba salah satu tanaman mangrove yang banyak ditemukan di pesisir negara-negara di Asia antara lain Indonesia, Malaysia Filipina, India, Cina dan Australia tropis merupakan jenis mangrove yang tumbuh di habitat rawa di lokasi pantai yang terlindung, juga di bagian yang lebih asin di sepanjang pinggiran sungai yang dipengaruhi pasang surut, serta di sepanjang garis pantai. masyarakat memanfaatkan mangrove sebagai obat tradisional yang memiliki potensi kandungan bioaktif yang sangat tinggi, kandungan dari tumbuhan ini salah satunya dapat digunakan sebagai antioksidan. Antioksidan adalah zat yang dapat menunda, memperlambat dan mencegah terjadinya proses oksidasi. Senyawa antioksidan dapat menghambat reaksi berantai pembentukan radikal bebas dalam tubuh, sering d isebut sebagai senyawa ajaib karena dapat menangkal penuaan dini dan beragam penyakit lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini yakni untuk mempelajari aktivitas antioksidan pada buah S. alba yang berdiameter 2-3cm yang diambil di sekitar pesisir pantai Desa Nunuk Kecamatan Pinolosian Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Selatan Sulawesi Utara dengan metode Fitokimia dan DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm.
