IntroductionThe COVID-19 pandemic has caused disruptions in educational institutions across the country, prompting medical schools to adopt online learning systems. This study aims to determine impact on medical education and the medical student’s attitude, practice, mental health after 1 year of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.MethodsThis study utilized a cross-sectional design. An online questionnaire was distributed digitally to 49 medical schools in Indonesia from February–May 2021. A total of 7,949 medical students participated in this study. Sampling was carried out based on a purposive technique whose inclusion criteria were active college students. This research used questionnaires distributed in online version among 49 medical faculties that belong to The Association of Indonesian Private Medical Faculty. Instruments included demographic database, medical education status, experience with medical tele-education, ownership types of electronic devices, availability of technologies, programs of education methods, career plans, attitudes toward pandemic, and the mental health of respondents. Univariate and bivariate statistical analysis was conducted to determine the association of variables. All statistical analyses using (IBM) SPSS version 22.0.ResultsMost of the respondents were female (69.4%), the mean age was 20.9 ± 2.1 years. More than half of the respondents (58.7%) reported that they have adequate skills in using digital devices. Most of them (74%) agreed that e-learning can be implemented in Indonesia. The infrastructure aspects that require attention are Internet access and the type of supporting devices. The pandemic also has an impact on the sustainability of the education program. It was found that 28.1% were experiencing financial problems, 2.1% postponed their education due to this problems. The delay of the education process was 32.6% and 47.5% delays in the clinical education phase. Around 4% student being sick, self-isolation and taking care sick family. the pandemic was found to affect students’ interests and future career plans (34%). The majority of students (52.2%) are concerned that the pandemic will limit their opportunities to become specialists. Nearly 40% of respondents expressed anxiety symptoms about a variety of issues for several days. About a third of respondents feel sad, depressed, and hopeless for a few days.ConclusionThe infrastructure and competency of its users are required for E-learning to be successful. The majority of medical students believe that e-learning can be adopted in Indonesia and that their capacity to use electronic devices is good. However, access to the internet remains a problem. On the other side, the pandemic has disrupted the education process and mental health, with fears of being infected with SARS-CoV-2, the loss of opportunities to apply for specialty training, and the potential for increased financial difficulties among medical students. Our findings can be used to assess the current educational process in medical schools and maximize e-learning as an alternative means of preparing doctors for the future.
Angka kejadian DBD cenderung terus meningkat dan upaya penanggulangannya memerlukan peran serta masyarakat dalam pengendalian nyamuk vector DBD. Pengetahuan masyarakat berpengaruh pada perubahan perilaku seseorang. Paparan informasi adalah salah satu yang berpengaruh terhadap tingkat pengetahuan. Tujuan penelitian adalah meneliti hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan paparan insformasi masyarakat dalam pengendalian vektor nyamuk DBD di Desa Koper, Kecamatan Kresek, Kabupaten Tangerang. Penelitian termasuk deskriptif analitik dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Lokasi penelitian adalah desa Koper, Kecamatan Kresek, Kabupaten Tegal Angus dan termasuk keluarga binaan Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas YARSI. Responden adalah anggota keluarga binaan dari 22 keluarga yang berusia ≥ 17 tahun berjumlah 68 orang dan diambil semua (total sampling).Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Agustus -September 2018. Data variabel pengetahuan dan paparan informasi dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis bivariat. Pengetahuan responden tentang pengendalian vektor nyamuk DBD yang paling banyak adalah pengetahuan kategori kurang sebesar 76,5%. Jumlah responden dengan paparan informasi kurang paling banyak yaitu 95,6%.Hasil analisis bivariate menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan paparan informasi dalam pengendalian vector nyamuk DBD (p value = 0,000).
Introduction: The COVID-19 disease has an impact on the disruption of routine services and other health priorities including the provision of reproductive health services. Public awareness and knowledge of cancer including risk factors, efforts to prevent it, symptoms that arise, and early detection of cancer are still lacking, so it is necessary to increase knowledge to the public. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling on the level of knowledge of the target group on breast cancer and cervical cancer in the pandemic era as well as to socialize about COVID-19. Methods: Research is carried out through Zoom Meeting media with educational media PowerPoint presentations, videos, and BSE demonstrations with an average number of 40 participants. The pretest was given a google form link that was distributed by the teacher to the WhatsApp group of the parents of students. The material was continued with a question-and-answer session and filling in the google post-test form. Data were analyzed by calculating the average pre-test and post-test scores to see the differences in participants' knowledge before and after counseling. Results: The average pre-test results of the participants were 6.7 and the post-test 9, analyzed with SPSS. There was an increase in participants' knowledge after counseling, it can be seen from the average score obtained from the post-test results that were higher when compared to the average score of pre-test average. Discussion: Counseling was deemed effective enough to educate parents or guardians about reproductive health, as seen from the enthusiasm of the participants during the activity and actively asking questions during the question-and-answer session. Conclusion: In conclusion, counseling can increase the knowledge of participants.
Selama menempuh pendidikan, mahasiswa kedokteran akan melewati banyak tantangan untuk menjadi seorang profesional dalam bidang Kesehatan. Untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme, penting bagi mahasiswa untuk memiliki kemampuan refleksi untuk mengembangkan pemahaman mereka terhadap materi dan juga untuk melatih penerimaan umpan balik yang baik. Islam mewajibkan umatnya untuk bekerja keras selama hidupnya dan tekun dalam beribadah. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat refleksi pembelajaran dengan performa akademik mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Yarsi dan tinjauannya menurut pandangan Islam. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Yarsi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu penyebaran kuesioner melalui google form. Analisa data yang digunakan yaitu analisa bivariat dengan uji chi-square. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistic, didapatkan hasil probabilitas sebesar p= 0,000 (p<0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara tingkat refleksi pembelajaran dengan performa akademik. Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat refleksi pembelajaran dengan performa akademik mahasiswa pe-klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Yarsi
