The effective reggeon field theory in zero transverse dimension ("the toy model") is studied. The transcendental equation for eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian of this theory is derived and solved numerically. The found eigenvalues are used for the calculation of the pomeron propagator.
The Sun is transparent for cosmic neutrinos with an energy less than 80 GeV. The interior part of the Sun forms for this radiation a high-quality gravitational lens with the focal distance Fϭ24 AU ͑astronomical units͒-the distance between the Uranus and Neptune orbit radii. The factors distorting the focusing are estimated. Among them are the spherical aberration, astigmatism caused by the rotation of the Sun, fluctuations of density connected with convection, and sunspots, etc. The lens has the unprecedented angular resolution about 1.4ϫ10 Ϫ11 rad. In focus the increase in intensity for the neutrinos flux from the center of Sirius is about a million times and even larger for more distant objects. This is only two orders of magnitude less than the flux of solar neutrinos on the Earth. Information about the solar interior can also be obtained by such observations. The resulting increase in intensity of the neutrino flux from the Sirius seems to open great possibilities in their detection even at the present virtual level of registration technique. Abstract. The multiplicity dependence of heavy flavour production in pp-collisions at LHC energies is studied in the framework of the multi-pomeron exchange model. The model is introducing the string-string interaction collectivity effects in pp collisions, which modifies multiplicity and transverse momenta, leading to the non-trivial mean p t vs. multiplicity ( p t N ch − N ch ). correlation. The string collectivity strength parameter is fixed by experimental data on multiplicity and transverse momentum correlation in a wide energy range (from ISR to LHC). The particles discrimination is implemented according to Schwinger mechanism taking into account the strong decays of hadron resonances. We demonstrate, that the faster-than-linear growth of the open charm production with the event charged particle multiplicity, observed in experimental pp high energy collisions, can be explained by the modification of the string tension due to the increasing overlap and interaction of quark-gluon strings. The model is extended for p-A interactions and the calculations for p-Pb collisions are performed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
