The article presents the results of analysis of resources and performance rates of medical organizations providing medical care in the field of dermatovenereology over 2019-2021 in the Russian Federation. The changes in the rates of provision of the population of the Russian Federation with doctors - dermatovenereologists are reflected. The rates of provision of the population of the Russian Federation with round-the-clock and daytime dermatovenerological beds are presented. The rates of dermatovenereologic medical care provided to the population of the Russian Federation in 2021 in outpatient, inpatient and day hospital conditions were compared with those before the pandemic. The dynamics of incidence of sexually transmitted infections as well as dynamics of prevalence and incidence of skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders among the population of the Russian Federation, and specifically in different age groups, during the period under review is presented.
Objective To find out how condom use in new relationships changes as a function of time, gender, as well as sexual and relationship satisfaction. Method Participants in a larger study who reported at least one new partner during the 12-week study interval (N = 115; 18-29 yrs; 48% women; 75% African American) completed weekly STI testing and 3x/day electronic diary collection assessing individual and partner-specific affect, daily activities, sexual behaviour and condom use. We analysed event-level condom use percentage and subjectlevel behaviour response effects. Generalized Additive Mixed Models (GAMMs) were used to estimate condom use probability accounting for within-subject and within-nested-partners correlations via random effects. Results The average initial condom use in the new relationships was 62% for men and 46% for women. The plotted smooth shapes of the estimated condom use probabilities fitted using GAMMs were qualitatively similar for both sexes throughout the study period. The initial high condom use percentage was followed by a sharp decline during the first 1.5 weeks to 19% for men and 14% for women. The condom use rates stabilised at around 6% after 4 weeks in a new relationship. Women who reported high levels of relationship satisfaction exhibited marginally significant negative association with condom use probability (p-value = 0.055). Sex satisfaction was not significantly associated with condom use when both the time trends and gender were taken into account. Conclusion Condom use declines sharply for both males and females during the early stages of new relationships. Men use condoms more frequently than women in the early and middle stages of relationships. Relationship characteristics may also influence lower levels of condom use, especially among women. ePidemiologY oF sexUallY tRansmitted inFeCtions in tveR, RUssia
Background. Population ageing is ongoing in the Russian Federation. Demographic changes may influence the age structure and dynamics of epidemiological rates of chronic skin disorders, as well as the need of elderly patients in specialized medical care. Aims. To study the dynamics of number of cases, incidence and prevalence of psoriasis, and the dynamics of the number of hospital admissions for psoriasis among elderly population (males 60 years and older, females 55 years and older) in 20102019 in the Russian Federation. Materials and methods. Analysis of federal statistic surveillance data, psoriasis prevalence and incidence rates among different age groups of population. Results. In the Russian Federation there is an increase in absolute number of cases, prevalence and incidence rates of psoriasis among elderly population. There is an increase in the number of hospital admissions due to psoriasis among patients with psoriasis of this age. Conclusions. An increase of the number and proportion of cases of psoriasis among elderly population is due to both, an increase of prevalence and incidence rates in this age group and population ageing. There is a high need in specialized medical care among elderly population with psoriasis.
Background: Inherited epidermolysis bullosa is a group of genetic skin disorders. In most severe forms, such as junctional and dystrophic subtypes, quality of life and life expectancy are significantly decreased. Therapeutic approaches include wound care and complication treatment.Aims: To evaluate the incidence and prevalence of inherited epidermolysis bullosa in the Russian Federation, sociodemographic characterisrics and provision of healthcare. Methods: To conduct the research forms summarizing demographic, medical and social information on inherited epidermolysis bullosa patients were developed. The forms were sent to state outpatient dermatologic clinics in federal subject of the Russian Federation. Data on inherited epidermolysis bullosa patients from outpatient dermatologic clinics were obtained within the period of 2014−2016 by extracting information from their medical charts. A confirmed inherited epidermolysis bullosa diagnosis was considered as an inclusion criterion for the research. Based on the collected data prevalence and incidence rate were estimated. Results: Data on 439 patients from 70 federal subject at year-end 2014, 404 patients from 59 federal subject at year-end 2015 and 417 patients from 60 federal subject at year-end 2016 were collected. In 2014 EB simplex was diagnosed in 19.6% patients, dystrophic EB — in 11.6% patients. In most patients (66%) EB type was not diagnosed. In 2016 patients with EB simplex (48%) and dystrophic EB (24.2%) prevailed. In 25% patients an EB type was not specified. In 2014 the prevalence rates were estimated as 3.6 (in 70 federal subject), in 2015 — 3.8 (in 59 federal subject), in 2016 — 3.9 per 1 million population (in 60 federal subject). The incidence rates were estimated as 0.22 and 0.33 per 1 million population in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Conclusions: In 2016 the percent of patients with established EB type has increased in comparison to 2014. No significant changes in prevalence rates has been registered.
