Infantile fibrosarcoma (IF) is a rare soft tissue sarcoma that occurs with a frequency of 1% of all cases of malignant neoplasms in children in the first year of life. IF most often affects the soft tissues of the upper and lower extremities. Rare localizations include the trunk, the head and neck, and the gastrointestinal tract. The article describes a rare clinical case of congenital IF of soft tissues of the chest wall in a newborn, as well as a literature review.

Thymic carcinoma (TC) belongs to a group of rare thymic epithelial tumours (TETs) arising from the anterior mediastinum. One of the most relevant established prognostic factors is complete surgical resection. Given the high invasive potential of TC a lot of patents at the diagnosis present with a locally advanced or metastatic disease, therefore complete resection could not be achieved, and a role of systemic therapy is increasing. Due to the rarity of this tumor type in children and adolescents, treatment approaches based on the guidelines for management of TETs in adults. In this article we report a case of TC in a 2-year-old boy. The literature review describes the current histological classification of the TET, approaches for systemic chemotherapy and local control in patients with TC.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a potentially curative treatment for different spectrum of diseases. This type of treatment is constantly improving, but HSCT remains a risky procedure with various possible complications, the main is – chronic “graft versus host” disease (cGVHD). сGVHD is immune disregulation, and characterized by a variety of clinical manifestations that reflect the multiple underlying pathophysiology mechanisms. The study of cGVHD has now made great progress, but there’s still a lot of questions. General characteristics, risk-factors of development, clinical manifestations, pathogenesis of cGVHD will be discussed in this article. Clinical case presented in this article explains usage of basic and novel agents for cGVHD treatment, prevention criterions for treatment of cGVHD in children.

One of rare location of teratoma in children is head and neck region. Treatment options, including surgery, are determined by tumour location, its grade of differentiation, and patients age. This article presents case report of immature paratracheal neck teratoma in a 3-month old child, subjected for second-look surgery for residual tumour removal due to the risk of life-threatening complications.
