Condition factor and organosomatic indices of fish represent a way of monitoring environmental factor influence on fish. The rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss, Wal.) individuals that were used in the work originated from different brood stock and different fish farms. Spawning was carried out on five selected fish farms. After that, the breeding eggs were delivered in Klasnik hatchery where the same environmental conditions were provided during embryonic development and cultivation of all five groups of individuals. As a conditioning factor in this work Fulton's condition factor and coefficients of the heart, liver and spleen were analyzed. In all individuals we determined the total length, standard length and body mass. In total, fifty individuals, which were divided into five groups form five brood stock, were analyzed. The results show significantly different values for the condition factor and organosomatic indices between some of the analyzed groups.
This paper gives the first record of the weatherfish Misgurnus fossilis (Linnaeus, 1758) from the Adriatic Sea catchment area in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
GOLUB Dragojla, G. ŠUKALO, Maja RANITOVIĆ: DIGESTIVE TRACT MORPHOMETRICS OF SOME CYPRINID FISHES FROM RIVER SAVA [University of Banja Luka, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Mladena Stojanovića 2, 78000 Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina] This paper presents data about several digestive tract morphometric for three omnivore cyprinid fish species, Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio), Chub (Squalius cephalus) and Cactus roach (Rutilus virgo) from river Sava in order to bring the obtained information in relationship with the type of food that fishes use. Standard body length, body weight and digestive tract length and weight were measured. The maximum value for digestive tract length in comparison to the standard length of the body was determinate for Prussian carp (483,61%) which indicate that herbal component has a significant role in its diet. Much lower values were observed for Chub and Cactus roach (157,41% and 151,11%) which indicates higher share of animal food in their diet. All analyzed fish species showed a high positive correlation between the standard body length and the absolute length of the digestive tract, as well as between body mass and weight of the digestive tract. GOLUB, Dragojla, Marija BUKVA, G. ŠUKALO: MORPHOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF DIGESTIVE TRACT OF NASE (CHONDROSTOMA NASUS) FROM VRBAS AND UNA RIVERS This paper present data about digestive tract morphometrics variability of nase (Chondrostoma nasus) collected from rivers Vrbas and Una (Sava catchment area). Total body length, standard body length, maximum body high, body weight and digestive tract length and weight were measured on 60 individuals of nase (35 individuals from the river Vrbas and 25 individuals from the river Una). In order to obtain data for body condition state and trophic state, Fulton's condition factor (K) and Zihler's or intestine length weight index (ILV) were calculated. Higher values of length and mass of the digestive tract were noticed for nase from river Vrbas wherein the statistically significant differences are identified for the digestive tract length (p=0,015) and digestive tract mass (p=0,000). Also, a higher average value for relative digestive tract length in comparison to the standard body length has been noticed for nase from river Vrbas (2,7:1) in relation to those from river Una (2,5:1). There is a positive correlation (>70%) between the standard body length and digestive tract length, as well as for body mass and digestive tract weight. High values of Fulton's condition factor indicates good physical conditioning of fish (K>1), and Zihler's index categorized nase as a typical herbivore species.
